They have too many GREAT players. No way West stops all of those Receivers who are all like 6'3+, while AP and Forte running and catching the rock.

You are assuming the NFC N Oline can protect against the NFC West front 7. Lol. Tell me.. Who's your all NFC north Oline?

Romo lovers crack me up. Maybe you should watch some NFC West games. And tell me who's going to beat the 49ers or Seattle? The Cardinals would win the NFC west.

Well, I never expected and NFCE fan to chime in but it sure was funny, eh, fellas?

I get the feeling many of these posters are big FF players and don't understand that you win games in the trenches, with a stout defense and a good run game. Teams like the Panthers are catching on to the idea. Your going to see more teams try to do the same.

Sorry but Romo has enough wiggles, to go along with the quickest release in football. How is the East not in the conversation, because you said so?

Because you need a helmet 24/7. I told you... Your QB is not jack shit in big games against great defenses. No QB could take the pressure of the front 7 of the NFC West.

Having you been watching football? Or do you just look at stats?

They would be in the same position as the East, which is non super bowl winners.

But overall, you understand that they're still better right?

Are you just trying to hijack this thread in to a "any team that doesn't win the SB is equal" type of deal? Good luck with that!

When will you guys learn that the game of football is won and lost in the trenches, and to be honest the NFC West would have the best defensive line and the best offensive line

I didn't read the whole thread but the team that leads the league in sacks and three or four guys with over double digits sacks and not one pick? People look at records of the teams and not do a breakdown of the team.

Plus their LB that is second of the league in tackles? Yikes.

Since, let's say the turn of the century, how many Super Bowl champions had a 'stout defense and a good run game'?!?!

I will start the list -- Baltimore Ravens in 2001.

The list of QBs that have won the super bowl since 2000:
Kurt Warner
Tom Brady (3 times)
Rothlesberger (2 times)
Eli Manning (2 times)
Drew Brees
Aaron Rodgers
Peyton Manning
Joe Flacco

Brady and Roethlisberger both had great defenses. Eli, Peyton and Rodgers had defenses that got very hot during their SB run, especially Eli.

You can use season stats all you like. The fact of the matter is that only a couple of those QBs didn't have their defense and run game step up significantly down the stretch.

I'm not using 'season stats' or whatever you are saying. I am just stating the obvious. The NFL is a passing league and has been for quite some time.

You are the one who said the way to win in the NFL is with a stout defense and a solid running game. I named you the one team who relied on a stout defense and solid running game in the past 13 years.

The Super Bowl wasn't played until 2000, which is why he was included.

Actual I said it. Of course you need a good QB, however chasing after the next Peyton Manning or Arron Rogers is like chasing for the gold at the end of the rainbow, your not going to find it and having the best QB doesn't mean your in the Superbowl. In fact it can hinder a team, because of his salary. Football is a team effort and it starts in the trenches, and a good defense and a good running game goes a long ways Anyone should be able to look at the 49ers, Panthers and Seahawks and see what I'm talking about. I would take any of those teams over any team in the NFC North.
