I think fining him was the better idea then take a draft pick away. I still think he did it by mistake

Well you and his mom are the only 2 that do....For real, you must be kiddin'...

A fine is fair. Tomlin handled it correctly after the fact and basically told them it was deserved. A draft pick is too much for an on the field incident.
On the field incidents 99.9% occur between players.......but when a coach is involved and with a lot riding on the outcome between teams, playoffs and Vegas, then it should be punished more harshly.

i figured he couldn't look at it because he's dead

He can't look at the tape because A) He's dead

and B) even if he was alive he was blind.

The comparison doesn't make sense and needs to be changed. Just sayin.

Hell yea I'm a fisherman. Been jiggin' crankbaitin' and Carolina riggin' since I was a pup. I fly fish for trout, Tarpon and bonefish. Been steelhead fishin' in Canada and Alaska over a dozen times. Would like to get some more Halibut and Salmon on my next trip.

It was an unbelievable sarcastic comment, meaning it was so clear, even a dead blind guy could see it....

Wow, that's a real fisherman there !!...I always liked fresh water fishing, mostly bass, but did a lot of trout fishin' as a boy....Don't have much time for it anymore but still love it....

No on the field incident is worthy of a draft pick.

You'd have better luck with dynamite.

Intent...if the play was coming at him face on and he stuck his foot out...no brainer, I couldn't cut him any slack. The fact his back was to the play and he saw it in the jumbotron...sort of like looking into a mirror...it's at least believeable that one could move the wrong way in that situation.

But...I don't expect a Raven a fan to buy it.

I would believe this more if he didn't look back and grin like he did.

With that said... Tomlin does not strike me as a type of guy who would do a dick move like this on purpose... Fairly class guy imo.

Seriously ??? You could clearly see his eyes looking back for JJ to get there and his face was not pointed at the Jumbotron..
That's a no brainer, and no matter that he has conducted himself previously as a stand up guy, he made a bad judgement to do what he did, but he did do it on purpose and the league knows it.....He could have caused an injury to the players as JJ got horse collared from having to slow down and change direction..
Take it like a man, there ain't no way out for him otherwise....

Assessing a draft pick as a penalty is ridiculous IMO.

And this was born out when he didn't make excuses. He came out and said he broke a rule and said he was in the wrong. I don't expect him to fight the fine.

On a seperate note, I've never seen a fan base whine so much about a game they WON.

I don't get that either, I thought Tomlin should have been suspended a few games along with 100k fine....
Maybe the league knows something we don't know about the incident though....

Nobody is whining. We just want to see Tomlin man up about cheating. It was a moment of weakness on his part. It's all good, but everyone needs to be accountable for their actions.

There is nothing in that gif that shows it wasn't unintentional and he just lost where he was at on the sideline. How would a guy react if he thought he was on the sideline, but wasn't and a runner was going past? Probably just like that. He probably heard them coming, that's why he looked over his shoulder.

There is another angle of that shot that shows Tomlin started looking behind him when Jones was at least 10 yards away.

73,000 people are in the stadium watching the play... except for the one guy that happened to be accidentally on the field.

Come on?

Had he been looking at the jumbotron he would have known the play was coming his way and got the hell out of the way. He surely wouldn't have acted all surprised and jostled out of the way like he did. It's not like he is someone's wife that never watches football and has no clue what the hell is going on, he's an NFL head coach. He knows what's going on at all times.

All that said, it's over and everyone needs to move on.
