You don't have to explain anything to me.
Yes there is 1 game separating us from the div. lead.
Do you really think Detroit is going to lose possibly 2 of their remaining games? With their schedule .
God I'd love to see the Bears win out. But being realistic, don't see that happening right now.
But as stated earlier, NO & Car. have 2 games to play vs each other. Not sure about NFC West games, but I'm sure there are a few match ups there as well.
Just think 11&5 will get a wild card.

63- If youre going to continue to reply to me then yeah, youre going to get an explanation. Pontificating on what teams Detroit may or may not lose to isnt the problem- its the fact that very same "who needs to win or lose" game will apply to the SEVERAL teams ahead of the Bears in the WC race. That inherently increases the difficulty. More has to happen for them to be a WC- the poor conference record has dictated that. How can that be argued against??

No, there isn't. The Bears have the same record as the Lions. A tie breaker separates them. So, basically, the Bears are a half game back.

If Detroit loses Sunday, and the Bears win. The Bears are all alone in first place.

Both teams have had their bye, so the W-L records are balanced. Being a half game out doesnt make them closer than being a full game. The requirements you stated to take the division lead remain the same.

When a team holds a tie breaker over another team, I've just always used the "add a half game" logic in my head.

Just works for me personally.

that might be because they have a lead, even if its minor. Tie records, Lions get the green light.

I find it funny that simple math, as well as context i.e. "what the problem is", escapes you. One scenario is less complicated than multiple ones that call for same course of action. Im trying to undsertand your side. So, instead of being an ass and mocking me, tell me how leapfrogging multiple teams for a WC spot is easier than overcoming the one team that the Bears are currently right behind for the division lead. If Im "wrong", giving me a chance to agree with you would be nice...

Earlier in the season I called for Tucker's head. The D wasn't improving and players looked terrible. But since the Bye week he has gotten down from the booth during games and has changed his approach to the rookies on D and it has payed off. Bostic has gotten better. They they have a long way to go but they are going forward and not dying. I am very happy.

Shea is just awful. My god he gets pushed around like nothing out there, no seal on the edges when they run outside, gets pushed outside to open the middle.

How do you call for anyone's "head" when the D has so many injuries? You have players playing out of position, you have three DT out with injuries, two LB's including your perennial all pro... the all pro CB out... Your starting DE playing DT totally out of position.

And the complete waste of a draft pick Shea playing totally out of position at DE.

wtf

Did you watch the Detroit game? Stafford did not get touched the entire game. Not one qb hit the whole game. This defense is not playing better at all.

:omg: :yahoo: :wtf2: :L

Holy fuckaroni... that was a nightmare game.

Need Ratliff in there. I realize that's not going to turn this GOD AWFUL defense around, but this isn't even an NFL defense right now. We're playing an underachieving DE in the three technique, rotating two unheard of rookies that nobody wanted... Shea *PUKE*...And then Peppers just gets doubled the entire game.

Ratliff at least moves Wooton back to DE and gets Shea out of the starting lineup. Gives us some kind of a presence in the middle.

If this is the defense playing better, I don't even want to watch when they start playing worse. Still aren't Briggs and paea coming back sometime soon? God knows we need them. I know getting rookie linebackers is good for their development and all...but...man Bostic really makes me miss ol '54.

As richig said, the fact that this team is somehow still in the playoff hunt is a head scratcher. This defense is running risks of breaking all time team records, and not the good kind. And yet...

Yeah, got to see what they can do with Briggs, Paea, and Ratliff in there before we write this season off completely.
