michigan has been an utter disaster all year long. they were lucky it was as close as it was -- UM forced 4 turnovers, which is the only reason they were able to score 21.

ohio state may be favored by 3 or 4 tds playing michigan on the road. THAT is how bad UM is.

oh now I see why all the frustration in your threads tonight....you a U of M fan also...sorry for your loss.

As a guy that liked the Alexander for Smoltz trade when they made it, I ended up regretting it as for the next 15 years I had to watch Smoltz be a All Star!

And the Tigers didn't win the series with Alexander.

The Tigers haven't won the series with ANYONE in any deal, including Miggy at this point...lol...I guess I am lost with this one...not even going more with this, the snowball would end as an avalanche..lol

Just depends on what the Royals get in return, if they trade him at the deadline this year.....

The Royals had to trade Gordon or Myers to get a top of the line pitcher...do you go with the all star or the prospect?

The Royals pitching staff went from one of the worst to 1st in a year...its up to the batters this last year and definately this year...but Hosmer, Moose, Perez and Cain are another year older and experienced...Hosmer might even be 23 or 24 this year...The core needs to get to 26, 27...closer to peak MLB years before the highest expectations are made...it took Gordon a few seasons to get there.

Lets see how MLB handles Myers this soph year...think Hosmer started off hot also.

the kid has a nice glove at 1st..but he proved he is nothing but a 20 HR guy at best.

Royals will need power from other places. Hosmer isn't going to be the one to come through.

I like the fact the Royals went for it last year and contrary to some I think they made it interesting for most of summer. I also get you need to change the culture and bringing in Shields sends a good message to the rest of MLB FA. The Tigers did the same with Pudge.

I also like the Vargas signing as he is under rated in my opinion. I think the Royals would benefit going after Infante a very under rated hitter and replace Getz at 2B.

I was thinking they might sign Infante also...but it would be over Boni...Getz is so out and pretty much put the nail in his coffin by the all star break...

Boni would be better at 2b than OF...but if they can't get Beltran, why not Infante...but that would really also be over spending their budget....they might not do either.

New York is believed to be zeroing in on Infante as a Cano replacement. I think Cano is going to negotiate himself out of a contract as the only teams to have the cash to spend are the Yankess and maybe the Dodgers or Angels if they can jettison some contracts.

What is going to happen with Chen?

Who knows on Chen...unless they sign him til Duffy is ready...but I think the royals are planning on letting Ventura and Duffy have at it...Chen would probably be too much for a long RP. He could be a last option for someone...

Pretty volatile guy, a la Jose Valverde, IMO. 3.10 career ERA and career WHIP over 1.30. Not "lights-out", that's for sure. Perhaps will have some value his first season in the American League, and maybe Bruce Rondon is ready in 2015. That's my hope, anyway.

Wilson's always been an overrated pitcher (partially the attention seeking antics and partially very homerish Giant fans who think he's the great closer to ever play outside of Mariano Rivera), but he'd be an improvement if healthy. In a solid bullpen I think he should be a 3rd or 4th option.
