The bottom line is that Shanahan has to go. Over 4 years he has accomplished little and the fact that the team is getting worse is not good. I honestly feel we are the worst team in the NFL. I personally think we need to hire Lovie Smith as he is the most realistic coach to hire. I am not interested in a college coach and we all know that Gruden and Cowher aren't going to come here. The new regime will have a ton of cap room and will be able to build the team the way they wish.

We don't need a college coach here. A college coach would be in over his head. I agree with Dad in that the big names aren't coming here. Smith is probably the best we can do. To be honest with you, the coach is important but his staff will be even more important. Smith would be able to address the pathetic defense we have.

I honestly don't know what to believe at this point. But there is only one constant over the last 15 year fiasco. Snyder. I don't know what his involvement is, but the buck stops with him. He needs to do some serious soul searching before hiring the next coach. Then he needs to find the best GM he can find and let him hire a coach. Then he needs to back away. Really back away. Communicate only with the GM and HC. Go into the lockeroom after the games to address the team, as a whole, fine. But do not develop personal relationships with any individual players.

Shanahan is gone. He will be here though the end of the season because we don't have a coordinator that can step up.

If Dan fires Mike and goes with Briles it just feeds into the stories of Griffin & Dan being buddy buddy. Not good.

Dan Snyder should: change the name, hire a player gm (not a number cruncher), have the gm hire a coach, and get out of the way.

Dan Snyder will: do none of the above.
