The bottom line is that it is quite possible and common for many of the players in the NBA to acheive their goals without ped's. I know that will come a shock to many of you and in fact I am not sure ped's would necessarily help basketball players as much as it does baseball players

In baseball, the ped's gives the players better strength to knock the ball out of the park, but the NBA is extremely different and if a player has no skills to shoot, all of the ped's in the world is not going to give him that talent
We're not talking healthyMLB players who take to improve power, reaction time, speed etc...

We're talking about possibly taking just to be able to remain on the court and be effective......at his age and mileage

If so.....then why feel the need to get the procedure done "not only once, but reportedly 2x" in the first place? Why didn't all the "extreme workouts", prevent him from blowing out his Achilles or getting major arthritis in his knee?

Under these circumstances with factual proof when it comes to NBA superstars, their ages and the stats they compile at those ages over the years... suggests there's definitely reason for some to wonder and raise a flag, when it comes to Kobe.

I may be a hater, but not trolling considering his play the last 2 seasons compared to the years before his trips to Germany (at his age and years in the league) are the facts right in front of our face to raise question.

Even If I never played in the NBA, I would still want the procedure if for no other reason, to have a healthy body that could do what I want it to do and yes you are a troll - that's all you do is troll

I'm still not convinced that it would be effective much because you're only as good as your weakest link and I haven't seen any proof that these ped's is going to keep them from blowing out a knee in a freak accident, or tear up a shoulder in a weird way like we've seen so many times. Baseball is about two things - hitting with power and running with power. PED's help, but basket requires a lot of talent that has nothing to do with ability. For example you could have given Smush Parker hundreds of peds, but he still would have been dumber then Smans rants about Lebron

And you still haven't provided any proof or evidence that has happened.

Re: Kobe's treatment in Germany. It's not like it wasn't well-publicized!! If the NBA had an issue with it, they'd have said something about it!! Seems like case closed!!

As for any NBA players on PED's: unless and until we start seeing positive drug tests, probably should just drop the subject!!

Kobe wasn't going to be the best player again without the injury, so I'm going with no!! Kobe hasn't been the best player for about 4-5 years. Top 5? Definitely!! Top 3? Probably!!

After this injury, I just hope he can come back and be in the top 10!!

I think Kobe can come back and easily be top 10. I know I'll get crucified by some on this board, but Kobe hasn't really been relying on athleticism the last 2-3 years of his career. A torn achilles is still a significant injury and it will be interesting. But he's more of a jump shooter now and not much of a rim finisher like he was in his prime. If he's already lifting weights then I don't see a problem with him coming back in November (2 1/2 months from now).

Best case scenario - he hasn't lost a step.

Worse case scenario - He tears his achilles out again after coming back too soon and eventually retires. Not a bad career if this happens. Will go down as 2nd greatest SG of all-time.

It's true he hasn't been relying on athleticism, but you have to wonder if he can get consistent lift on his jumpers throughout a game/season to shoot a high percentage

Kobe needs to make sure he has recovered 100% before he plays again with the same intensity he is known for. Otherwise he will tear it again and have to retire.

I believe he can be Top 10 again but the big question is, Will he be able to play at full speed 100%?
