I am sure Gagne did not cheat when he was claimed to have used steroids to help the Dodgers. You do not have Gagne's doll in your room by chance, do you? It is called the fallacy of damning the alternatives in logic. This is where partisans denigrate other players not on their team.

Well, if pretty much all of them did it then it was an even playing field and all of Bonds' home runs count. So he's the all-time home run king. Glad we got that settled.

EXACTLY -- if ARod is banned for life -- it will let the Yankees off the hook on the WORST contract in the history of baseball. I'd rather see the MLB make the players play for free and donate the salaries owed to the players to a charity.

i agree with the OP i think a lifetime ban is due, if Rose got a lifetime ban (still not sure why he isn't in the HOF but that's a different discussion) for betting than A-rod should get a ban for something just as bad.

Interesting. Do you know that McGwire is the hitting coach of your LA Dodgers that was abysmal in offense before McGwire was hired but is now tearing it up? In any case learn to spell McGwire not McGuire who is helping your LA Dodgers in the west.

I am not sure if it was a level playing field because surely some of them weren't juicing, but for every player that did juice - there was an honest man that got knocked out of the majors that might have been able to take his place and win. That's the way I see it. I would rather see a clean game with clean players instead of a bunch of drug addicts. At one point the list of Dodger players using steroids was like 75% of them and they were still in dead last place - How pathetic was that? As I said, it was dark chapter in baseball history, but to answer your question

No Bond's home runs don't count and like the others he should also be banned from the sport. Had the game been played with clean players does anyone really think he would have hit all of those home runs? No one could possibly believe that so in the end Bonds was a cheat like Pete Rose who got banned for far less.

Most likely not - but they said today he will still have 40 million dollars in a guaranteed contract. If nothing else he will come back to collect - He doesn't care about winning at his age - Without those juices he is a nobody and we all know that

Coaching in the major leagues though is different from being a player - I really hadn't thought about banning them from coaching, but I suppose that since McGwire now opposes steroids and claims to regret it, hopefully he can make a difference in helping the younger players to make the correct choices, but all of them should be permanently banned from the Hall of Fame - no two ways about that
