According to Andrew Bynum, they don't.

Part of an interview with Fox Sports, Bynum was asked this question:

It's not LA, but it's Cleveland, and the one thing we know about Cleveland is this city loves their sports. What do you know about the fans here?

And this is what Bynum had to say:

"I just know that they're really, really passionate and I haven't had the opportunity to play for a city that is really just gonna stand up and really support the team. I'm super excited and I can't wait to see what it's like."

He hasn't had the opportunity to play for a city that is really just gonna stand up and really support the team.

Ex-Laker Andrew Bynum said that.

Yeah, any fool who watches a Lakers game can see that crowd is nuts.

Yeah, Bynum sure does come across as one bitter ex-Laker here.

Did think I would amuse you guys with this, though.

Yes Bynum, the team with the most fans around the world, bandwagon or not, has a problem getting support. :L

Leave it to Laker fans to create a soap opera out of this.

In case you really didn't know, by him saying "it's not LA", if you actually paid attention to the whole article, he was merely attempting to complement Cleveland's fan support while attempting to leave LA out of the discussion. But of course, Laker fans will fabricate his comments as saying "LA doesn't have great fan support".

I don't agree with Andrew Bynum 100%, but he is partly right. Consider the crowd which is usually all Hollywood - mostly actors that have nothing to do. They are not nearly as passionate as fans in other cities and that's what Andrew Bynum is talking about. Then add on that he got boo'd a few times and one can see why he feels that way. Don't forget were are talking about a person that went straight to the NBA without going to college and never had the chance to grow up. That really is a child in a man's body for atleast a few years, so cut him some slack in my opinion

I'm not surprised Bynum said this. The guy doesn't appear to have one classy bone in his body. As evident by the cheap shot he took on JJ Barea back in the 2011 playoffs.

I think you all are being too harsh on Andrew Bynum. I don't think he really mean't it as an insult to the Lakers - he's not smart enough to throw barbs. Give him a break here

Dumb ass, did Lakers fans make that article or start this thread?

He said he haven't had the chance to play for fans that is really gonna stand up and really support the team. Please explain those comments.

Being passionate is different from "really supporting a team."

He said we dont really support the team like cavs fans.

Hurricane, c'mon man, you're smarter than this (I hope)!! Bynum specifically stated that he hasn't had the opportunity to play for a city that will stand up and support the team and that he's "super excited" to see what that's like!!

How else is that to be taken by Laker fans, other than he was implying that Laker fans do not support their team?

I know how it sounds and how it normally would be interpeted, but we are talking about Andrew Bynum who is still really immature and still says and does a lot of stupid things. He still hasn't grown up. He's not with the Lakers anyway so who cares what he says? I sure don't

At least Laker fans don't leave an NBA Finals game early, unlike a certain team down in south beach.

Im still trying to figure out, what made them think security were going to let the back in?

I guess they don't know better.

As for the Laker bandwagoners, at least they are very passionate about their club and cheer Pau Gasol's buckets like they cheer Kobe's. But the Heat fans are just there to be in front of the TV cameras, texting all game.
