Why would any Heat fan be butthurt?

We are doing OK last time I looked.

Everybody is welcome to their opinions, but ask and answer this question honestly.

If you asked all 30 GM's who they would rather have on their team right now, how many say Durant?

I have a strong feeling that the answer would be 1, and that would only be the case if he knew the results were going to be made public.

Yep KD is tge best player bc he falls apart w/ o Westbrook. He has proved he is not the best player. Kobe is ahead of him actually, with his bad leg and all.

Andrew Bynum believes he can play a full season for the Cavaliers despite missing all of last year with two bad knees. Bynum, introduced today at Cleveland Clinic Courts, said the year off has helped both his knees and his mindset.
"I want to play a full season," he said. "There is no doubt in my mind that I can do that. I'm going to be ready. That's the plan."
In order to make Bynum's contract fit under the salary cap, the Cavaliers had to waive Kevin Jones and Chris Quinn. Both players are in Las Vegas with the Cavs summer league team, but both players are injured.
The Cavs also had to renounce the rights of all their other free agents, including Luke Walton, Daniel Gibson and Semih Erden, whose rights they held even after he returned to Turkey last season.
Bynum's work ethic and attitude were sharply criticized during the rehab process and even before the injuries, something he called "unfair." General Manager Chris Grant said Bynum is in a better place now and Bynum agreed.
"Getting my career back on track and really playing a full year is my only goal with this season," Bynum said. "I really feel like I can accomplish it. Work-ethic wise, I come in every day and I work hard. I feel like it's a little bit unfair at times, but that's just something that comes with the territory. Obviously, you take that and use it as motivation to come out and prove everybody wrong."
Bynum has already moved to Cleveland and has found a place to live. He intends to spend the rest of the summer here working out. One of his first priorities is to lose some weight. Bynum said he weighs 305 pounds now and needs to get into the 280s for the season.
With all the additions the Cavaliers made during the summer, Bynum believes the Cavs can return to the playoffs this season for the first time since 2010.
"This is definitely a playoff team," he said. "I'm really excited about this roster. We definitely have the opportunity to go."

First of all, great job keeping yourself in shape! Shows great motivation, especially with those spider web knees.

Anyone want to bet he plays a full season?

I'll go with the 'he doesn't' part of the bet.

The Cavs cut Chris Quinn, I didn't realize he was still in the league. Wade should feel accomplished outside of having 3 titles under his belt, by dragging at team to the playoffs that included Quinn in the rotation.

If he doesn't play the whole season, he can always blame Kobe for "stunting his development"!!

Kobe has more heart in his toe nail then this clown does inside his 310+ lb lard ass body.

Most people would be in jail for stealing 20+M over 2 years.

If you can't do weight bearing exercise you're going to get out of shape some. 20 pounds is nothing.

True to an extent, but if you have bum knees, carrying extra weight isn't ever a good idea.

I could see him being a little lax if he was under contract.

He knew he would be a FA and teams would have some serious questions to deal with before offering him a contract.

It just shows extra what an unmotivated mental midget he really is to allow himself to be so out of shape heading into FA.

I think what it shows is if you are a halfway decent 7-footer you are going to get a job regardless.

Big difference between only 6M guaranteed and being offered 5 year 100M plus though.

That's the thing I just can't comprehend regarding a person's psyche. Before last season, many were questioning who was the better center between Bynum and Howard, including myself. If you keep yourself in shape and play part of the season and ball out, you're going to get paid. Even with the degenerative knee issues, some team is going to hand out a max deal for you because you just can't find skilled big man at 7 feet right off the streets. Oh well, he's Cleveland's problem now.

It gets deducted from the salary Miami has to pay now - no one gets paid twice anymore,

Besides the obvious to me, where they were saying the would get to double dip, having thought more about it, it actually is making sense.

In other words, if all Birdman could make was what the Nuggets still owe him from amnesty, then why would he have taken a week or whatever to decide to sign with the Heat?

In addition, if all any player could make was capped at what they were due from the team that amnestied them, then why wouldn't every player just take the very minimum that there new team was allowed to offer? That is not always the case.

Then, there is an article is the Sun Seninel here today discussing the business side of the game now (amnesty)and it says this:

"The player that's going to put you over the luxury tax and what you have to pay for that player, is he worth it? Mike has been a good player and he's helped them win games but I'm sure they (the Heat) were at the point where they had to make those decisions."
The Heat faced a $33 million luxury-tax payment after the 2013-14 season if they decided to keep Miller. The decision to release him saved $17 million — which could also allow the Heat to pursue potential roster additions.
Miller, a key contributor on both championship teams and fan favorite, was paid the remainder of his contract before taking a spot on the waiver wire. Situations as such have become the reality of the league under the new collective-bargaining agreement, which is geared toward balance."

Wouldn't this support that once he became a FA, the Heat was obligated to pay him whatever was due on his contract and Mike was free to negotiate for whatever he can get?

I believe what he is saying, bc Idon't think he wanted to be in LA or Philly abd I do think the time off helped. And I hope he can play a full season but just don't see it.

I think it is still a great addition for the Cavs even w/o a full season and if he stays helathy and just misses games toward the first half that could help him in a second season. And yeah for a guy that big, he works hard he can lose 20 pounds in a month. So I am not worried about that bc get used to being on the court takes time, I am just worried about his knees and how they will survive in game action and physical gameplay.

Is Memphis interested? I agree that they should be, but have only seen the mutual interest with OKC!!

Not that it was a lock, but can't say I didn't tell you.
