I was going to ask you if you were feeling OK?

Where the hell would this team be without Kuroda?

It's my anti-sabemetric rant

But my point still stands that Down doesn't have one

The reports weren't known prior to his arrest...thus the reason I asked for some indication, prior to him being arrested, that he was a "known gang banger". because you've repeatedly used that as a reason Sox fans are stupid for not realizing a "known gang banger" could/would turn violent.

And one of your reports sums it all up perfectly...there is a timeline involved..he had a problem in 2007 as a freshman at Florida...no criminal history prior to that...and nothing until 2012...which is pure speculation at this point (the double murder in Boston)...

From 2007-2013 "by all indications and reports" a model team mate...and a guy the Pats had his character personally vouched for by a close personal friend.

They all got it wrong, we know that "now"....but anytime you feel like, you can stop pretending that you knew he was a "active gang banger" prior to last month...

Not known by who?

Me? You? Who gives a shit?

The Patriots knew, which is exactly why you've been making a jackass of yourself for the last week.

We could have found out if we really wanted to. I didn't care. Why would I?

Sounds like Ellsbury is about to be an Ex Red Sox

Yeah, except I've been saying that last year too. Don't project your "honor and tradition" hocus pocus view of baseball on me. I'm a realist.

Davis has a great shot at getting it swept under the rug. He's white and if he beats Maris' record, he'll probably go down as the defacto record holder in the testing era. But just like Bautista, Ortiz, and EE, I do find it a little odd when these guys come out of no where (even with Davis minor league track record of homering). We know Ellsbury never flunked a test and he was definitely roiding in 2011.

boras said yesterday ellsburys shoulder "is just now getting back to normal"

which explains his recent mini power surge

he very well could have been juicing, we dont know

and it's a stupid one. You don't need to look at advanced stats to realize Kuroda's been a *far* better pitcher than Tillman.

You'd be well advised to not trust a single word that comes out of Scott Boras' mouth.

Quite frankly I don't remember mine or anyone else's stance on Ellsbury in 2011

But I'm willing to bet my entire savings account on the fact that in 2011, when posters were saying "Ellsbury is juicing", the response from RSN was NOT "I agree"

ESPN says Kuroda gets 3.47 runs per start in support.

Tillman gets 5.42 per start.

The difference between 11-3 and a high 3 ERA, or only 8-6 and a mid 2 ERA.

I miss our offense.

I think they're all dirty. But I don't care. Never cared. People want to see the long ball...period. But for some reason, fans whose favorite players somehow get linked to this shit all get busted, something happens to them. Instead of saying "So what"...they have to make excuses for those players.

Makes zero sense to me.

Who was a better pitcher in 2006? Randy Johnson or Mike Mussina?

But wouldn't a weak hitting team with great pitching skew that data?

Not saying that's what the Twins were, just in general

No...because it also factors in what road teams do in that park, as compared to what the league as a whole does to the same pitching staff when they're on the road? It factors for that.

If a team hits weak at home, but considerably better on the road...and road teams come in and can't hit either...it's a sign the park is having some sort of effect. Do you need math to know that Oakland and Petco are pitchers paradises? I'd hope not...just watch 1 game in either and you can see the park effects at work.

The formula is: (RS = runs scored, RA = Runs allowed)

(Home RS + Home RA divided by home games) divided by (road RS + road RA divided by road games) and then multiplied by 100...this just makes the decimal easier to read...

It's fairly accurate over large samples so I like it when you have multiple season agreeing with each other.

And you can do it for HR's too..just substitute RS and RA for homers hit and allowed...

And for the metrodome? All but one year, 2008, dating back to 2005 agree that it's bottom 1/3 in park effect for HR's

davis is probably the first guy to handle it "right"

he came out and addressed concerns rather than wait for the concerns to become an issue

this is his 3rd 20+ HR season, and he had 33 last year

its not like he went from 12 HR to 37, ya know?

I didn't come to the conclusion until last season when he came back. No power whatsoever. But believe it or not, the following is not how my thought process works -

"Gee Ellsbury might not get re-signed by the Sox. In the event he doesn't I should throw him under the bus now."

The above is restricted to Yankee fan Robinson Cano talk. Especially when he was slumping.
