Let it be known however, that I STILL would take DH(flaws and all) over that S&T....but if he wants to leave, then I'm looking at what Klay did in the playoffs last year and I will gladly take him on(still in a rookie contract), plus expirings. That also leaves us with the 2014 or 2015 cap space.

So, Mitch should be able to just wave a magic wand and make the bad contracts and players no one wants go away? Don't forget, Mitch orchestrated the CP3 trade that Stern vetoed "for basketball reasons" when Cuban and Gilbert cried about it!! If that trade goes through, we are likely not having this conversation.

After that trade was vetoed, the Lakers were basically stuck with older players and untradeable contracts. So, all things considered, the Lakers are in about the best position that they can be which means one more season with these contracts and a virtually clean slate after next season!!

I dont get why everyone ignores/forgets about this!?

From what I'm reading Houston is the obvious frontrunner for Dwight

As a Dallas fan, I hope we DON'T get him.

This forces us (Cuban) to realize WHAT Dallas is.....namely, not a top FA location. We've allowed a title team to walk away in an attempt to sign DWill and Howard.......we're looking at neither of them in a Dallas uni, and Dwill is FROM Dallas!

Cuban needs to realize he has to build through the draft and SMART trades. The sooner we as a franchise get to that mentality, the better off we'll be.

Because the really, really WANT the Lakers to be down for awhile so that their teams have a chance!! That is not a slam on those posters either!! If I were a fan of one of those teams, I'd want the same thing!!

When a team has the resources/money that the Lakers have, it typically means they also have the best opportunity to re-build very quickly. What takes other teams 5+ years, can be accomplished in 1-3 years by teams like the Lakers.

So, they have their fun in the down years and then hope and pray that the Lakers will make mistakes re: how the money is spent and and who it is spent on to make the re-build take a little longer!!

Or they just ignore that and try to act like the Lakers have all of these "old guys" on long term contracts and will have a roster full of 40 year olds for the next 5 years!!

If I had to rank the teams most likely to get Dwight right now, I think it looks like this:

1) Houston
2) Golden State
3) Lakers
4) Dallas

5) Atlanta

Dallas is most likely in better position than you realize. Lakers and Atlanta are in the worst position.

I think Dallas/LAL are in similar positions. Both of them have a superstar who only have 2-3 years left and are both out of their prime so basically if Dwight sign with either franchise, he is banking on them acquiring another top player in the future via trade or free agency

:agree: Look, Dallas is a great franchise and Cuban is an owner that many players would love to play for. But, as you point out, they are not a "destination franchise" no matter how badly Cuban wants them to be!! Cuban has been able to put a competitive, fun to watch team on the court virtually every season. But I think that the reason that the Mavs only have the 1 title, is because he seems to always want to get that 1 more superstar that he just can't seem to land!!

In short, he wants to be the Lakers, when he would be better off being the Spurs!!

4 titles is 15 years (and being in contention almost every year) is nothing to sneeze at!!

This is a total non-story. Not publicly saying they'd do a S&T beforehand is a negotiating tactic due to the fact that LA is the only team that can offer Dwight a 5 year deal. It's common for all teams to do this. Everyone knew this going in. I don't understand how its effective considering everyone sees what's going on but that doesn't stop teams from doing it year after year. Regardless, its a nonstory.

Rumor around Las Vegas MGM sports book is that he is not choosing Lakers.
True or false, really don't know and really don't care.

The greatest thing about all of the signings is that it all involves big time names, players, contracts all on WC teams.

Other then the Heats big 3, as I have pointed out, the FA class is weak next year.

Once again, things are falling perfectly right in place for Riley and the Heat to keep this thing going for at least a few more years.

Hammer did you step on this dope's foot and fart in his face while politely saying excuse me? I would have. LOLOL!!! Priceless!!!

Morons (as you can see) were walking up and bugging him and he was being totally dismissive of them. That fat dope standing there actually got him to give him a limp handshake but no acknowledgement or smile. On the one hand, he's working - leave him alone (what I did). On the other hand, you're 7' tall and a celebrity - go sit in a box or something.

If you walk straight down to the floor from where I took that pic you run into Jack's seats. Best seats I ever had. The seller has been a season ticket holder for 40 yrs to move down that far.

The experience sitting that close is un-fucking-real. It was additive man, I wanted to do it again the next night so bad.

I am truly happy for Golden State fans. They'll remember this day fondly one day.

Donyell, now that Golden State is out of contention, I think I'm going to be sporting a new Warriors logo on my profile. My whole life with the Lakers ends now. My wife and son are with me on this too.
