The concept of Kobe in the role of a teacher just makes me laugh. One might learn by his experiences, but only by doing the opposite. Sorta of like George from Seinfeld.

Yeah, Dwight should go to Houston, Harden, Parsons and Lin know how to win championships lol. Maybe Dallas where he can play with old ass Dirk.

LOL, cause he's going to win a title in LA next year?

You take homerism to new heights. It's UNDOUBTEDLY his worst option to stay in LA. Houston and Dallas may not be perfect fits.......but at least he doesn't dislike his teammates, role, or coaches for either of those franchises yet.

I'm still trying to figure out WHY Lakers fans want him back, after all the bitching I saw on this board about him from Lakers fans. Lakers have the longest path back to a title of the three teams with or without Dwight.

who taught Jordan to win championships? Who taught Kobe? Why is this such a difficult thing to do on your own?

Hmmm, who could have taught MJ and Kobe? Let's see!! Does the name Phil Jackson ring a bell?

Ramona Shelburne ‏@ramonashelburne 6h

One THEORY that wont go away is that Rockets option is smoke to throw people off scent Dwight has been ticketed for Dallas all along.

Ramona is a beat writer for the Lakers. What she's talking about is that Dwight/Cuban planned for him to go to Dallas BEFORE he was traded to LA......well that's the theory anyway. Man this one tweet is causing all kinds of havoc online.......they are discussing that there's no way Cuban would blow up a championship team unless he knew he was going to land Dwight.

ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE

But it's an interesting theory either way. They are discussing that him even talking to Houston was a smoke screen to throw anyone off the scent that this was a setup from the beginning. When he was in Orlando, he openly stated he had no interest in Houston.

Frankly speaking, I wouldn't put any of this past Cuban......if he thought he could get away with it I'd bet the farm he'd do it.

If Howard signs with Dallas, I guarantee you this story doesn't go away, at least not in Texas.

Story isn't true. If it were Howard would have never signed his option with Orlando in the first place. Dallas had cleared space for him but he wasn't there, so they filled their team with place holders. If he was so convinced to go to Dallas at the time, he could have done it last summer as a FA. But he didn't because he had signed the option. He later on went back to asking for a trade to Brooklyn or LA. The facts of the time just don't fit the narrative. He may go to Dallas but it won't be because of any of that.

I never said LA would win the title nor have I said Dwight would sign with LA, I am just stating my opinion that a healthy Lakers squad with Dwight has a better shot at winning a title than Houston or Dallas with Dwight. When was the last time a young team without much experience won the title? Harden jacks up as many shots as anybody. LA reloads quicker than any other team in the league, we did it with Pau, we did it with Dwight and Nash last year, we'll do it again. We're spoiled as Laker fans but with good reason.

Part of Hardens game and what makes him so effective is his passing ability. Kobe could do it but he hates passing with a passion. Realistically Howards best shot at situation where he can be the man and win a ring is with Houston or Dallas if they bring another above avg player. Those things are important to Howard by all reports. If he waits for Kobe to retire he could get injured or the balance of power in the league changes and he will miss his window.

Just read a rumor that Howard must have encouraged GSW. They are shopping Bogut and trying to clear cap space.

:agree: and this is why the majority of Laker fans either don't care if he re-signs or don't want him to re-sign!! He hasn't shown in any way, that he has what it takes to lead a team to a championship.

His offensive game is as limited as it was in his first season, his free throw shooting seems to have actually gotten worse and when Steve Nash (one of the most accurate free throw shooters in NBA history) offered to help him, he declined the offer. When he had the opportunity to step up and actually lead the team in the playoffs vs. San Antonio.....he fouled out!!

That was his opportunity to show Kobe and everyone else that he is the leader that he thinks he is. Not that it would have made any difference in the outcome of the series, but a monster series from him, would have shown a lot!!
"Majority" of LA fans don't want him back?? I think you're exaggerating just a tad.

Also, as far as Dwight not taking advantage of his opportunity.....he was still recovering from back surgery, remember? Plus playing with a torn labrum. He's not 100%!!!.......

LOL, this is what I'm talking about.

You realistically think he has a better chance winning a title with a 40 yr old PG, 35 yr old SG and old PF?

REALLY???

Seriously, did you watch a SINGLE game last season?

Yeah, I watched many, and I watched the Lakers go something like 26-12 down the stretch.

I don't think either LA or Dallas would have a very good shot at a title next year, with or without Dwight. Houston would, although I think they too will fall short next year. They may need to taste defeat before they are ready to take the next step.

Smith would actually complement Howard and Harden pretty well if the egos don't get in the way.

You must have convienently missed where they pretty much nearly got swept by ALL the other playoff teams last year.

Amazing how some of you only see what you want to see. The outright ABSURDITY in your belief that that team has any shot in hell of the playoffs, much less a title, over much younger, talented teams is hilarious.

NO team with Nash at PG has a chance off the top. Especially one with Steve Blake as his backup. I don't even have to talk about the rest of the team.

I got that point already, Houston's better because they're younger, but whens the last time you saw a young team with little to no playoff experience win the title? Did anyone think the Spurs would be in the Finals this year? I do believe they have a better shot but hey, you can stay being a hater who gets his points across by using CAPS.

ahh, the tried and true "you must be a hater" if I don't think the Lakers walk on water. Grow up.

The Lakers aren't contenders, with or without Dwight. They are in the worst shape of all the teams bidding for his services by FAR.

There's a reason Nash has never been to the finals.......and there's a reason teams this old don't make it far. The Spurs play defense......but the primary reason they made the finals is because OKC was injured.

The Lakers have no chance at beating ANY of the top seeds. Why? Because they can't defend perimeter shooters OR opposing PGs, which is a death sentence in the west.

oops.....there I go hating again, my bad

Mavericks officially out. Seems like the Rockets and Lakers are left standing for Dwight unless Atlanta pulls off a miracle....

Over the cap, so they can't get any more players.

No Howard, Kobe injured......they may tank and become a lottery team. I don't see a good season on the horizon for the Lakers next year.
