Ok so assuming (which is very likely) that this team finishes in 3rd place (which is last place if the astros werent in the division) would Jack Z's GM job be on the hot seat or even fired at that? Sense taking over the mariners what has he done for us? Im keeping track of the key moves he has made sense taking the GM job.
1. Traded Cliff Lee to the Rangers for Justin Smoak
-was a top 10 prospect in the league with the rangers was suppose to be a power hitting that can hit around 40 homers and be an RBI #4 in the lineup type player.
in 1400 ABs his BA is .226 with his highest home run count being 19 back in 2012
2. Drafted Dustin Ackley #2 overall in 2009 draft
-I dont want to harp to much in a sense that nobody else in the 1st round is an all star other than mike trout and i guess Aaron crow
when we drafted him he was suppose to be a hitting machine that he hit .400 his freshman season at UNC but in 1000 AB's in the major he hit .239
3. Traded Michael Pineda to the yankees for jesus montero
- suppose to have a bat like miguel cabrera, dont need to get into the numbers other than we all know he is demoted to AAA
so I dont know if you guys still want to wait for Danny Hultzen to make his debut but who else thinks that Jack should be on the hot seat? because the way I look at it other than signing felix hernandez to that huge deal he hasnt done anything for us
