Come on Bronco -- I sure hope you don't truly believe this. Left Tackle, far and away, has the most difficult blocking assignment. Not only is the LT responsible for the blind side of the QB, but he is facing the best pass rusher 1 on 1 all game long.
I have been thinking that Michael Williams could end up getting moved from TE to RT. If he is that good of a blocker and could add 20-25 pounds that may be the Lions thinking when they drafted him.
The biggest difference is -- He isn't one on one blocking a speed rusher lined up as a TE, he is doubling the DE with the tackle.
To put it simply, he was drafted to play on the offensive line. As long as he achieves starter status, he should be considered a succesful draft pick. Really doesn't matter much after that, although the arguments can be entertaining at times.
Come on now -- you are slipping. Detroit selected Brandon Pettigrew over such notable players drafted behind him like Percy Harvin, Clay Mathews, Michael Oher and Hakeem Nicks to name a couple. Detroit has no need for an OL, WR or OLB though, so no biggie.
Id say he was drafted to be a LT.....Much Like Rieff was.....I'd say Balitmore is getting more then we are until I see Reiff at LT and doing the same thing as Oher.
The overwhelming majority of teams put their best pass rusher on the right side -- Here are a few:
DeMarcus Ware -- Dallas
Michael Johnson -- Cincy
Julius Peppers -- Chicago
Charles Johnson -- Carolina
Elvis Dumervil -- Baltimore
Osi Umenyora -- Atlanta
Clay Matthews -- Green Bay
Tamba Hali -- Kansas City
Jared Allen -- Minnesota
Chandler Jones -- New England
Jason Pierre Paul -- NYG
Aldon Smith -- SF
These are just the household name studs who play on the right side. After the draft -- there will be a few others drafted in the 1st round who will also be playing on the right side.
Dion Jordan -- Miami
Ziggy Ansah -- Detroit
Jarvis Jones -- Pittsburgh
So yes -- the LT is going to face the best pass rushing specialists in the majority of the games.
I just put up the household names -- if you'd like me to list the entire league, i can. It is common knowledge that teams usually put there best pass rusher on the right side, as it is the blind side for the QB.
It isn't as if I'm making this up.
I think your source on that one is either pretty dated, or working off some dated information. Here you go Smitty -- an explanation for you on the difference between RT and LT.
Yeah- let's not use the actual games as our reference... not like they matter at all...Here is a link for GBs depth chart. You should write in and tell them they are incorrect and Clay Matthews is not the ROLB in their 3-4.

Yeah he may be labeled as a ROLB, but he lines up everywhere. If u can't see that with your own eyes, then there's no hope. Doesn't matter what he's officially labeled.

You put up household names, yes. You didn't put up household names who all rush from the right side, however.
It's, in fact, not common knowledge, as I've already pointed out.
You do seem to be making this stuff up, as is often the case in many of your posts when the debating starts...
