Trent R should not be on the list.
If there are only 6 OL, then that is just wrong.
I like Unger, but is he really the 6th best OL-man in the NFL?

It is what it is! RW in the top 70?
Stafford ahead of Kaep? Really

This is all fun, bring on the season, but don't make summer pass tooooo fast.

Let's hope for a great Seattle Summer.

Yea not sure how Trent is on the list either.

But player voting is slightly better than fan voting hence why you see guys like Freeney and Woodson on the list.

I don't think either are perfect. Player voting can be inaccurate because nasty players may not get the respect they deserve, or players who are not respected throughout the league may not get credit despite their talent.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of players are not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I think the most accurate form would be a combination of NFL writers, NFL players, NFL scouts/execs, NFL coaches and the fans. I mention the fans because they are the people who pay for the tickets and watch the games, without fans there is no NFL.

So, Earl Thomas is #66 for the second straight year. They also stated that at least one more of the Seahawks secondary (which is all I expect) will be on the list, so I guess Sherman is still to come.

So, that's what? 3 Hawks.

95. Unger
90. Harvin
66. Thomas

I'm not missing anyone am I?

The list is total garbage. At worst, Big Ben is top 40 and is probably closer to top 20. Im also fully expecting zero members on the Rams.

Stephen Tulloch next to Earl Thomas? Can't take it seriously

Even though it's the players, you can never take any list like this too seriously. I mean, they had Tim Tebow on the list last year, and by no stretch of the definition could he have ever been considered top 100. It's the off season, and with little else to do, it is interesting to see where people land.

I agree that the Rams shouldn't be shut out. There are some really good players on the Rams. Laurinitas, Jenkins and Long should all get serious consideration.

Earl at 66 is a blow. But this list is for entertainment only....I am sure ET will use it as motivation though...especially after seeing his twitter feed.

Hawks still to come.

I bet RW shows up on the list next week.

Lynch will be around top 30

Sherm will be top 10.

Funny that ET wound up in exactly the same spot as it seems like the odds of that happening would be low.

I could see Lynch in the top 30

Sherm won't be top 10. The list is part popularity contest and he Sherm doesn't have the rep to be top 10.

I think the rookies should start showing up as well so RW, Luck, and RGIII should appear soon. Any higher than 40 would be too high for them imo especially if you're going to rank Kaepernick at 81.

My goodness Jikkle. Im not sure how to react to clear calm thought out untrollish discussion with a 49er fan. ESPN message boards have taught me to be guarded in situations like this. lol

Ive seen a few lists that have sherm pretty high. It will be interesting to see where his peers have him.

Im honestly a bit surprised that RW hasn't come off the board yet.

ESPN boards were a cesspool of stupidity which is why SportsHoopla is a haven for fans that want meaningful discussion since any major idiots are quickly disposed of.

I won't lie though I do see things with 49er rose tinted glasses on but I am a football fan and I call it like I see it even if it's a rival team.

Pete Prisco had Sherm at 9 on his list but unfortunately it's from Pete Prisco. One writer I seriously do not understand why he still has a job and still gets paid for it.

I his 2012 Season Preview is far worse than any reasonable fan could come up with and he's supposed to be a professional

Keep the good posts coming. I think you will find that Seahawks fans also see thru rose tinted glasses. As it should be!

Love this board, it has some major knowledgeable posters.

Curious,...
Folks do not like the smack talking Sherman. Roddy White on Real Rob Report refused to give Richard props and the polarizing Revis twitter thing?

What are the chances that Sherman does not make it?

I also see the possibility that Wilson does not make it. I think he should be closer to (but not less than) his NFCW twin Kaep at 81 (who made it to the SB) but has yet to show.

Did anyone else believe Chancellor had a better chance than Sherman of making the list? Due to notoriety/popularity over ability of course.

So, this weeks list really was a head scratcher:

Jared Allen at #60 and below Terrell Suggs, JPP and Julius Peppers (and Peppers is too low IMO)?

Russell Wilson is #51, and there are 9er fans tweeting on NFL Network about how they think that Kap is better. I guess we'll see this coming season, but I feel that Wilson is where he should be, though not sure I like Luck and RGIII still being on the list and not sure I agree that Wilson isn't a top 10 QB (I believe I heard he's the 11th QB).

I feel very much the same on these points.
I take solace though that now, because of the apparent lower national expectations, Wilson stands a much higher probability of flying well above the hype, instead of 'failing to meet it'. This is sure to make him popular with the ladies as well (Wilson's Women; a good natured jab at the haters).

Rodney Dangerfield level appreciation is an intrinsic part of the Seattle club experience and I am reluctant to see it change. To have Wilson touted any higher than he is right now at #51 would, to me, serve as an indication that the Hawks were morphing more towards the proverbial corporate entity, 'playing the game' their way as it were. I'll want to stay boutique over bulk of the bell curve Walmart style TYVM...

So let him be where he is I say. And when the chips fall at the end of the season I hope only that the nay-sayers have plenty of dip.

I think being ranked #51 is very impressive for Russell Wilson. I look at it as he has gained the respect from players in a very short period of time. He played as a borderline top 10 Quarterback last season.

If Seattle could have Luck, Griffin or Wilson,... would you want to switch him out?

Personally I would not.

It then becomes disappointing that the other two have yet to appear on the list. Makes me wonder what the players see that I don't.

This is the issue I have with the list as it should simply be the best players of 2012.

Because if we're talking 2012 I don't have an issue with Kaep being #81 and Wilson, Luck, RGIII being higher since those 3 had more games under their belt.

But if we're talking 2013 than there is no way there is that wide of a gap between Kaep and the rest of the guys. If you had to choose between CK, Luck, RW, and RGIII you could make a very solid and reasonable case for taking any one of those guys.

It's easy to see why RGIII is higher.

For one more hype around him and the list is part popularity contest.

And two statistically RGIII had a slightly better year than RW. RGIII was better in every stat except for fumbles where he had 12. Not sure how many were lost though but if you look at fumbles and INTs RW looks like he barely edges RGIII at having less turnovers.

What helps RGIII is he was consistently good throughout the year whereas RW was pretty middle of the road until later on in the season when he exploded out when they opened up the playbook for him.

Also doesn't the fact that RW was on a better overall team compared to the Redskins doesn't help his case over RGIII as well.

When it comes to Luck if he's even on the list it'll be because he took a team from worst to playoffs and the players might overlook some of the warts on his stat line.

Both RW and RGIII had Morris and Lynch who were the number 2 and 3 rushers in the league to help them so it's not like the entire load was on them.

Luck had to throw 627 times so it was pretty much on his back for the team to make the playoffs since the running game wasn't a huge help and the Colts defense was just okish.

You can't rank players on what you think they would do if they all had the same line and rushers behind them. You have to rank them based on what they did and who they have around them is a part of that. Their rankings may not be entirely in their own control, but that's how it is.

RW gets lower marks on last season because of his first half stats. We as Seahawk fans can point out they didn't let him run much of the offense, but it doesn't change the stats. It simply gives us a chance to see what might be this coming year given we can ignore all but the games where he was allowed to play fully.

RGIII gets higher marks for last season because he did better over the entire year, however if we are ranking what we project for next season his injury has to weight in on it.

Wizardhawk, you are one of the most intelligent, well spoken Huskies I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. I hope they let you off of the leash because I'm sure you could handle it. What a good boy!!
