walked off on his own power. But was grimacing and threw only 23 pitches. It was in the GCL, in the afternoon. not much info available.

If he walked off on his own is good news. Big difference in being hit in a muscle or a bone.

That's why I use my eye. You can break a wrist really easily with a 40 mph ball...... It's simple to take a 90 mph fastball to the shoulder or buttocks (still hurts like hell) but just end up with a bruise not a broken bone.

The eye will tell you that, not some crap reporter.

I didn't see it, that's why I ask.

Seriously, my friends, lol.....................shouldn't guys like Alvarez and Putkonen be pitching against Pawtucket and Durham and not major league players?

Yessir, EXCEPT guys like Brayan Villereal and until just recently Al Alburquerque have sucked so bad that they had to get shipped out.

I don't trust crap on the internet, but I read he got hit in/on the calf.....That could be a good thing. It could also mean it hit him on the tibia or fibula......Again it depends.....Did it hit muscle or strike one of those tender bones......Did it hit where the bone is thicker? or did it hit low where the bone is skinny.

You don't hear about too many guys breaking their femur for a reason....That's a huge bone. Need a car accident to break that bone....

not gonna get alot of info from a GCL game unless the tigers issue a release. just not many reporters there. The most crucial thing assuming no major injury is only throwing 20 something pitches in a rehab start.

As a fantasy player.......How about Steve Cishek? I'm sure Miami is looking for something, at the same time he's looked solid and lights out.....He's the closer on Miami but we could argue otherwise.

Leverage is leverage and think he would look good in the D.

As another thought, since I have Heath Bell and J.J. Putz on my team........A Big No Thank You on Puttz......He looks like Valverde........

Just horrible.

God awful.

Even Kirk Gibson doesn't know wtf he's doing in in Arizona...

Heads up fellas. I'm dropping Putz from roster and keeping Bell as my closer unless Gibson is totally retarded like JL.

I get to make the decision on my team and Putz chucking 90 mph fastballs as a closer can find himself another job. He's a joke, loved him on the Mariners, dude is bum today. Had to watch it myself coming off the DL and looked just like Valverde......Haha......I can't believe I gave Kirk and Putz a chance.

Article today pointed out that the Tigers, during the 7,8,9th innings have AL league lows in BA, Slg, and HR. A team with no guts?????

Certainly a team lacking clutch hitting, Iffster. 2-21 when trailing after 6 innings. Their M.O. for much of the year, even when they win, seems to be score early, then succumb to horrible at-bats later in the game.

Hoping they can get some big hits when they need 'em in the second half. You look at the top teams in a given year, and they historically have a considerable number of comeback wins. Not so the Tigers, so far.

Porcello will appeal the suspension....likely hold it off until Sanchez is healthy....even if it is not reduced. As for the Miggy pitch close to his head....part of the game. Porcello's pitch came after a warning to both sides.

I don't know if anyone here saw the dust-up between the D'Backs and Dodgers. I am sure MLB is going to come down hard on things like HBP for awhile. As much as fans LIKE the confrontations, I don't think anyone wants baseball to turn into the WWE.

I hate when the tigers play in domes. They never seem to do well....seems like we always struggle in toronto.

Agreed, but Prince seems to do well in Domes.....The rest of the team not so much.

Porcello hit the batter before the warning was given......there should have been a warning given when Miggy was throwen at and then there may not have been a problem the next day.......

Porcello's suspension is somewhat without weight. he will appeal and it will be heard the next time they are in Ny (early August). This is what will happen.

Rick is scheduled to pitch on the wednesday before the break. He will then drop his appeal and serve his suspension the last 4 days of the regular season and the first 2 days after the break. he will of course still be docked six days pay . However since this suspension is a direct result of our senior citizen manager unable to keep his mouth shut (there will a price to be paid) the tigers will give porcello a little $$ to make up for it.
