Never thought I would defend Rempe but that is a crap call. Can't really expect a big doofus who can't skate to get out of the way.


And this one is odd. Assuming my bad lip reading skills he might have told the Ref to "bite me" at the 6 second mark? I doubt he did but I bet the ref heard it that way.

Should not have been an interference penalty on Rempe or you also take the opposing player off for embellishment, he went down awfully easy.

Any penalty on Rempe is a good call. Period. Evens up for the shit he does that doesn't get called.

As for Bedard, it's either "bite me" or "fuck me". The ref probably thought he was being beligerant because it looks like he said "that's not a trip" first when stripes skates up. Plus we don't know what he said prior to that. I am positive some refs will hold every word out of a player's mouth in memory cumulatively. Could have been talking shit all game. On the surface, yeah he shouldn't have gotten anything for that.

I had a player on my team tell a ref to read the rule book between periods after an iffy call. Ref later called another penalty on the same kid and he mouthed off. Ref said "I read the rulebook like you said, and it says I can throw you out for that. Bye". I couldn't help but laugh.

he should have got his moneys worth and made this motion to the ref like the kid on my sons team who got an abuse of official penalty

/that kid has legend status now by the way ... he had a broken ankle and by rule if injured kids are on the players bench during games, they have to wear their helmets(with cages). So he did that motion while wearing the helmet/cage and in his suit and tie lol ... audible laughter from everyone in the arena

I honestly think its the way Bedard basically dismissed him with his body language. so the ref took that personally like they all do and gave him the 10 mins

Hey, refs are human believe it or not and they know if a team is just playing out the stretch, they will hand out a 10 minute misconduct to a player, because what does it matter? You need to establish yourself as a good team in the league before you will earn respects from the zebras.
