Derek Dooley is on the market.

Looks like Dools & Cheesestick are on the run!

Paul Rhoads almost has a 50% winning record at ISU. :pound:

I don't think Petrino is going to make it. Malzahn seems the most likely at this point. I think either one will upset the fanbase, though. It'll probably end up being someone not obvious, though I don't know why names like Pelini or Strong keep coming up. Not sure about taking a risk with someone that hasn't been a HC like Smart...

Oh well, we'll see...

Wouldn't surprise me to see yaw go after Smart, but with the current state of the program, I think you guys will go after a more proven HC.

A lot of the Auburn people don't like Petrino at all, but he's a good choice and had Arky pretty good when he was there.

I also think Malzahn would be another good hire for Auburn. Without a village idiot in his way, he would have Auburn's offense looking good.

If it were up to me, I would go with Petrino as HC, and BVG as DC. Petrino will make the offense good, and I think BVG would do good things with the defense with a little more time and getting some bigger, better players in there.

I agree........have to keep BVG

Are people saying that about Will Muschamp as well?

Not a clue, but Kirby's name comes up in every coaching search so there's been more speculation articles online over the last few seasons and in a few I've read apparently some AD's worry that it's the case with him (Kirby). I on the other hand think he'd make a good HC.

When Muschamp was at LSU, the Tigers had their most dominant defensive unit ever assembled. I always said Muschamp was a great coach and was maybe one of about ten people wanting LSU to hire him once Saban left in 2005.

Again, Smart may be a product of Saban. It is very possible he is a puppet and I wouldn't have a clue. I personally feel like Smart has great knowledge and even if he isn't calling the shots on Saturday, he will be able to do it if need be. Coaching under one of the best in the game... you know he is soaking up every ounce of knowledge from Saban and will implement a lot of the same things. He won't necessarily be as successful, but he is definitely worth taking a chance on.
