What records in the NHL (team or player) do you think will be the hardest to break?
To start just pick one or two per post.

Fastest three Goals in a single game: Bill Mosienko , 21 seconds. Reason, I just don't see how it can be done any faster.

Consecutive Stanley Cups: Montreal Canadiens, 5. Reason, With the salary cap and free agency it's too hard to keep all your star players very long.

You don't need to give a reason, I just threw my thoughts in there.

Wayne Gretzky's record for most NHL records.

92 goals.....I just do not see it happening

163 assists, I can see happening, but it would be one special one line team....

215 points is out of reach as well.....

Also, 472 penalty minutes in one season will never even be touched...with the way the NHL is steering away from fighting and career fighters....

Glenn Hall's 502 consecutive games played for a goalie. Hardest record in sports to break, period. It will never happen.

Those are 2 good ones Boss. I also like Honus Wagner's answer. Gretzky has so many records, I don't think any one player will ever do that again.

I was thinking about that one as well. Just didn't want to throw too many out there in one post. That's going to be tough to break.

Two more for the goalies:

Career shutouts - Whatever Marty Brodeur ends up with will never be topped
Most shutouts in a season - 15 (Tony Esposito)

Thinking about it and reading some that have already been posted.....there are a lot that wont ever be touched. 502 consecutive starts is crazy. Is it possible? Sure, but I doubt any coach would let it happen.

three fastest assists: Gus Bodnar - those same 21 seconds.
Also, 472 penalty minutes in one season will never even be touched...with the way the NHL is steering away from fighting and career fighters....
Randy Holt - 67 PIMs in one game.
with today's rules, few players manage 20+ without getting tossed.

a couple more I think are unlikely to be beaten:
Most points in one game: Darryl Sittler - 10 (consider no one else has even gotten 9)
Most assists by goaltender in one game: Jeff Reese - 3 (just a fluke game. can you imagine a goalie getting 4?)

Ya, that's a painful one. I was watching that game sadly :(

The only thing I see about the scoring records is that if the league ever makes the nets bigger, and they've talked about it way to much for me to believe that it's a guarantee it'll never happen, then a lot of the scoring records would fall, IMO.
