doesn't surprise me at all.. my senior design project at school was working on an autonomous boat.. if 10 college students on a 7k budget can get a boat to drive through a buoy channel, automakers should be able to get cars to drive themselves

Top Gear said that Audi's flappy paddles work the best. This is the first car I've had with them, and I love it. Very snappy.

I have the thumb shifters on my car, but never use it after the novelty wore off.
not much call for performance driving with a booster seat in the back. or maybe I'm just too lazy.

My children heartily encourage me to go fast. They like "Roller coaster" roads.

This is okay, provided they give them their own roads/lanes.

Because unless you disable all manually operated cars simultaneously, you are going to cause a shit-ton of accidents when something stuck at 55mph is crawling along the highway. Truckers will be crushing them left and right.

My genius idea that would never happen but should: trucks should have their own separate freeways. Seriously. They make my travelling horrible. Without them, I'd be a happy camper. And they could probably increase speed limits by a small amount.
