No comment on the hit & run? That worked. (eventhough it was a failed attempt). Had the squeeze worked, we'd be hearing praises. Can't have it both ways.

Pitcher made the pitch...had Elvis gotten the bunt down, it'd be 7-6. It happens.

But seriously, the fire wash BS is getting old. Best record in the AL.

Oh wait, I guess talent is what's winning...right? :L

It was a stupid call to call for it with no outs and two hitters very adept at making contact regardless of if it had worked. Young may have weakly grounded out to short even but that would've been enough. Instead he handcuffed elvis and may have even injured him. Wash deserves to lose his job. His in game management is pathetic and cost us the world series last year. I want him off this staff.

Davis k'd a ton and didn't walk even when he was hot. So far Olt's plate discipline is very good and he's walking.

Come on small sample sizes here,

Davis' first year was his best as far as BB% and K%, then the league figured him out, I'll reserve judgement until Olt's about 50-100 games into his career

That said, I said Davis 2.0 as a way of saying an improved Chris Davis, which Olt is showing he is... so far,

his plate discipline is better and I've always said that, the Ks will catch up with him eventually, and even then I don't expect it to be as bad as Davis

I know it's a small sample size which is why I said I don't want to speak too soon, but he looks very comfortable at the plate.

No, had it worked we'd be saying it was an unecessarily risky move in that situation and we got lucky. At those of us who aren't totally ignorant. Calling for a hit in run with a man on 1st is totally different than calling for a suicide squeeze with a man on 3rd and no outs. I'm sorry if you don't know the difference.

NO! even if the squeeze had worked, there is no way i would be singing his praise. not with no outs. you are taking yourself out of a potential big inning with the top of your lineup coming up. stupid call no matter what the result was

Not to mention he got Elvis hurt by having to dive at that awful pitch.

And even if Elvis had struck out or popped out young can be counted on to make weak contact which was all Olt needed.

Exactly. Anyone who defends that call by Wash simply doesn't understand baseball on any kind of higher level. Anyone who has ever played the game knows that was a boneheaded call. I guarantee you both Grieve and Busby looked at each other in the booth and shook their heads. Being aggressive and being stupid are two different things.

thats a terrible walk by ross, actually, both walks were terrible

The result sucked, but give him a break, the batter fouled off what, 8 strikes, five or so of which came with a full count. It was just a great AB from the batter.

Yeah, tough to fault Ross for that one.
