Bad Holland rears his ugly head again. He might be the most frustrating player on the entire team. He has games where he is dominant and brilliant and you say "there is no way we can trade him". When he's on, he has ace stuff. But then he goes out and just gets completely shelled and you just want to give up on him. He's either amazing or terrible. And you know if we keep him he will always be this way, but if we trade him he will turn into the next Cliff Lee.

No need to worry about Holland becoming C.Lee. He will never be able to consistently locate his pitches like Lee. Would trade Holland as a part of a package to bring in an ace or a big time bat. Feliz would garner some attention as well in a package deal. At least we do have pieces that can bring in some essential players.

I'm on board with Gentry as the leadoff hitter as well. Move Young to the 9-hole and let him pout (and I've always been a MY fan).

Gentry
Andrus
Hamilton (if he learns that taking a walk is acceptable)
Beltre
Kinsler
Cruz
Ruiz
Napoli
Young

Murphy as the OF sub/platoon and Scutaro as the IF sub/platoon. That's about as solid as you can get.

I'm about to take some time away from this team and check back in August. I just can't watch this crap every other night any more.

I just wish Wash would wake up and realize that his offense has been sputtering since mid-May and at least try something to shake things up a bit. I do like that he shows confidence in his guys to work their way out of slumps (like he's doing with Napoli). But this supposed high-powered offense, which looked scary in April, has been totally flat for too long. Even the HR's have started to dry up.

The only positive thing to come out of tonight was Naps had a 3 hit night. Other than that this was an embarrassing performance and shame in this team.

On the one hand, yeah, we're in first place by 5 games and have the 2nd best record in baseball. So it is hard to complain. But on the other, we're just not playing very quality baseball on a consistent basis. For the talent we have, we just shouldn't be struggling to score or put up big innings like we are. We do still win, but often it's ugly or because the other team just plain sucks. The fans who watch this team night-in and night-out know it's not performing anywhere near its capabilities. The pitching has been for the most part pretty solid. Great years so far from Harrison, Ross, and Nathan, and good years so far from Darvish, Lewis, Adams, and Feliz, Oswalt, Ogando, Uehara, and Holland in limited roles. All-in-all, better than or at least as good as expected. It's the lack of hitting which is really keeping the Rangers from separating themselves from the pack.

The hitting hasn't just been lacking. It's been a fucking joke. What's worse is their body language (KINS, josh, nelly) don't seem to act like they give a fuck. This team needs a wake up call.

We're just not crushing very hittable pitches like we should be. Balls left right out over the plate are being missed, fouled off, or weakly popped up/grounded out. I know I sound like a broken record, but it's the truth. Grieve, Busby, Nadel, and just about every sports writer out there are making the same comment... "boy, that's a pitch that player X normally clobbers", or "don't you know player X would like to have that pitch again".

At least Kinsler yells at himself sometimes. Josh just keeps smiling like a jackass and casually walking back to the dugout as if it doesn't bother him at all. I know not everyone wears their feelings on their sleeves, but Josh's seemingly apathetic looks sure don't instill tons of confidence.

Yeah, I'm getting sick of hearing that. This is like when nelly went though that stretch last year where he couldn't hit middle middle fastballs, except with the whole team.

What's more is wash was starting to get production from Nelly and MY when he switched them in the order and what does the dumb fuck do??? He switched them back. :L.

Yeah, I've stopped trying to guess why Wash makes some of the decisions he does. I keep saying these hitters are going to get it figured out again and then the rest of the league is in major trouble like they were in April. But I've been saying that since May and nothing is changing. A few bursts of offense here and there have provided hope, but then it's been right back to struggling to put up 3 or more runs.

I sit Kinsler and Young rest of the series and start Gonzalez and Snyder both days. Putting Gentry in Kinsler's spot with Gonzalez in Gentry's ... Snyder in #5.

Also ... this team needs a mean ass Bob Gibson on the mound.

In poker you rarely win if turning in 3 cards and hoping to draw a winner. Rule usually is too that you only make one deal at the deadline for the one piece you are missing.

This time I want Lee, Ruiz, and Scutaro ... really shake stuff up.

Otherwise ... I am about the same spot as Romeo is ... tune out until mid August.
