nba comes down to so much injury luck- if the shoe is on the other foot and SGA is hobbled and Haliburton healthy obviously things are totally different.

You gotta have good luck to win an nba title - that is for sure unless you are just a truly dominant team.

I mean yes…

But as @thunderc has said, Haliburton playing or not playing wasn’t going to swing this series the way OKC has shut him down.

OKC is not winning because they are lucky. They have been the best team all year.

And of course the Cavs got very unlucky.

That's true, but also true they were lucky NOT to have any injuries to their best players in the playoffs. Cavs and Cs were among the top teams going in along with OKC of course and injuries certainly helped do in Cs and Cavs (as you alluded).

Exactly......Pretty sure if we play Indiana completely healthy like they were but they lose Haliburton 2 games (and hobbled the rest), Siakam for a game and whomever you think their Hunter equivalent is for a game I'm confident we roll them.

Not taking away from Indiana as they still played really well......most impressed they beat a fully healthy NY team and took 2 from healthy OKC.

needs a floor of about 200m far more.

should not be so profitable to not even try.
It will never happen but the only way the players agree to a cap is if there's also a pretty high floor, for obvious reasons

Yeah I’m not hearing it if Haliburton doesn’t play. He has pretty much been effectively neutralized in the whole series. Siakam is the guy. Far from over.
It's not far from over. It ends tonight.

He
Buss family was always going to cash out. To many owners- too many people jealous of positions. Not much cash outside of the business (relatively).

Beside the Lakers- I wonder how many professional franchises would command a 10B sale price. Yankees, Cowboys would prob go for substantially more. Knicks would be up there but prob around the same maybe a little less.
Here's the list, the top is indeed the Cowboys, then Warriors, Rams, Yankees, Knicks

But that list is a Forbes estimate, ultimately you are worth what you sell for, so the Lakers would be at the top with the Cowboys now. On the list the Lakers were at #8 valued at $7.1B.

Many teams on the list would probably sell for more like the Lakers just did. The Cowboys would maybe get $15B who knows?

Note these values are higher for teams that own their own stadiums and networks and so on. That's why the Warriors are so high, Chase Center is a premium venue all year round for shows and whatnot.

Really don't think it's so much players stopping the cap as it is likely many owners wouldn't want it.

For sure, but they would still need a floor to agree which is surely one reason the owners don’t want it.

He still has an effect though because OKC has to pay attention to him. It's not just about how well he plays, it's also about the attention he draws.

Far from over

He changes his mind frequently

With okc down in the 3rd in game 4, he left them for dead and made several comments about the game being over

During game 5, he made several comments about there being a game 7

Now over the last few days he is saying the series is over tonight

It is a 48 minute game for a reason

And a 7 game series. I do feel good about tonight, but that means nothing.
