I agree with most of his write-ups. Which is that he'll start out in the slot, but absolutely has the vertical speed and route running ability to develop into a successful outside receiver in the NFL. I don't think there's anything Burden cannot do.

I also loved watching Burden because he plays HARD. He runs HARD. He wants to win very badly (and not in a toxic "sideline tantrum at his QB" kind of way). Missouri had 2-3 really bad performances last season. I can't remember who it was against, but Burden refused to come out with the starters and caught 3 passes on a final, meaningless drive. Putting his shoulder down going into the sideline for extra yardage, hustling everyone up to the LOS to hurry up... They were down like 30, but he just kept playing until the final whistle. It stood out to me.

EDIT: Gotta keep in mind that I'm also the guy who was COMPLETELY SOLD on Anthony Miller :D
The difference being, Anthony miller was a bit of a reach compared to Burden who fell in the draft. And I think Anthony Miller could’ve been good if he learned to block and not be a selfish prick.

I would agree 100%. His first two seasons? Miller showed big time flashes, IMO. End of 2019? He won me my fantasy league with that late stretch he had. Then, he just fell off a cliff by the end of that 2020 season. He just didn't have it mentally. The personal fouls in the playoff game against New Orleans turned me against him forever. Inexcusable. That game wound up with NO pulling away, but we had multiple windows to do damage while it was competitive. He closed a couple of those by being a jackass.

I was stunned to see him suiting up for Ravens in the playoffs. I didn't know he was still around until he caught a pass for them on Christmas day.

Our three 2nd rounders have yet to sign:

I'm going to elevate this matter to that of slightly greater importance than a nothing burger. It's not as if these guys won't sign. And apparently this is an issue with others as a total of 30 2nd round picks have yet to sign. Nonetheless, it will be nice to finally have all our rooks inked and the sooner the better.

wow, that is pretty big news. I can see Burden thinking he should have been a first round pick and wanting some extra money, I mentioned the texas A&M D linemen as also being good need choices, but Ozzy? Most players would be happy they get away from that fifth year option and could change teams sooner if its not working out.

You know that salary, bonus, and length of contract are all predetermined. Right? The only thing they can negotiate is small stuff within it. Language, how certain monies like the bonus are deferred, etc. It happens all the time. As he said, this is a nothing burger. They cannot change their compensation.

It sounds like more than a nothing burger based on that article. Both 2nd rounders that have been paid in 2025 are fully guaranteed and that has never happened in the past. Might be a standoff at the OK Corral for some of these players since the dam has opened.

I see your point Jidster, and it makes a lot of sense as to why there are still 30 unsigned 2nd rounders out there. But I'm still taking the view, shared by richi that this will ultimately be no biggie. It's not like these guys aren't gonna sign. They may moan and groan a bit, but when push comes to shove, they'll be asking for the pen to sign their contracts.

Ozzy Trapilo is going to end up being be the best pick of this draft for us. What a beefcake.

If he begins the season as our starting LT, that'll pretty much lock in your prediction.

Imagine if we got a similar haul last year and took Jayden Daniels….

To be honest, thats not a fair comparison giving our oline, headcoach and offcoor problems....
Dont really think JD5 could have fared much better....hard to say.

But give CW props for what he had to deal with....and really think its gonna get better

It would have been tough to land Daniels unless we traded with Washington, as he had clearly established himself as the #2 QB in the draft. And there's no way in hell we would have been able to receive any similar type of haul going from pick #1 to pick #2.

Rumor has it two firsts and some change were on the table. I guess it’s not similar, but an additional first in this draft might’ve looked nice this offseason.

No argument from me with respect to Daniels. If you recall, I was the first on board here in grabbing this kid, at least back when I wasn't hot for Williams. Had the Commanders been willing to swap picks, I think we might have been able to snag their 2nd rounder that year, maybe even a '25 day 2 pick to boot. But I don't see them willing to surrender another 1st round just to move up a single spot, especially when Daniels was the alternate for them.

I remember the rumor from the build up to the draft. I think the commanders offered two firsts to move up. There might’ve been some second involved and we turned them down. Then they committed to Daniels.
