That's the case for the whole QB room. Flacco was signed to start IMO. Pickett was the younger backup that could step up if Flacco falters. Then they confused everything by spending two more draft picks on QBs.....late.

I didn't like the Pickett acquisition when they did it BEFORE the rookies were drafted. Tiny hands in cold Cleveland is a disaster waiting to happen.

Browns fans, do you think the guy that performs the best will start game 1 or do think there are other factors that will affect that? I can’t imagine not starting the guy with the highest ceiling game 1 as long as all other things are at worst equal.

It's a good question. Thinking for Flacco to start week 1 needs to be clear best option (and, sure, it might be). If it's close among other 3 not sure what they'd do as thinking at least now could consider all to be viable long term solutions.......though odds say none are.

Yes the way I read it top 4 seeds get a bye no matter what.
