pretty excited with the draft.
pretty excited with the direction.
pretty excited with what I think this staff just might do...killing the entitlement stench being successful communicators.

and pretty excited with the vision of dominant offensive interior oline play. Three premium draft picks at all three interior positions. It seems Schottenheimer/Adams will shift to more inside run game. The RB competition in camp has some bigger backs with Williams 220, Luepke 238, and Mafah 230.

Tyler Smith, Cooper Beebe, Tyler Booker
High Pedigree and Physically Dominant trio.

Converting short yardage plays extend drives and bleed clock, and best of all, they can directly put points on the board.

Negitive would be injuries, as in, we can't take on anywhere near last year's amount of hits.Need a little luck here.

We go into the season with a fresh start coaching staff that brings great energy and a solid offseason. We are a legit WC contender IMO.
If Diggs, Revel and Overshown are all starting by week 7-8 and we are relatively injury free we might have a really special season

The Present: This time around, Sanborn effectively serves as this year's version of Kendricks (for Eberflus' system) and Murray is hoping to become "the man in the middle", but it's also true that, in the absence of Overshown due to injury, the former Notre Dame standout showed he's a playmaker with an exceptional football IQ. Don't look for Liufau to be displaced by the signing of two veterans, having shown he can serve as the green dot in an offense — as a rookie, no less — something that will only get better and more proficient with time.

Eberflus is known for how he can get the best out of linebackers throughout his coaching career and Liufau (and Overshown, when he returns) are set to be the superstar tandem at linebacker for the Cowboys. It doesn't matter which of the three roles Liufau lines up in, though, because he'll likely excel in any spot.
The Future
: And that's where this summer will be interesting, i.e., where's Liufau? Will Eberflus see him as the true green dot based upon his rookie tape under Zimmer, or will the Cowboys' defensive coordinator opt to try Murray's hand at the MIKE (middle LB) first? Sanborn could get some looks there as well, and the jury is still out on how Damone Clark will be utilized by what will be his third coordinator in his first four NFL seasons.
Go ahead and treat Liufau like the off-ball linebackers' version of Waldo heading into training camp, but one thing is for sure: he'll get every opportunity to be a full-time starter and, in that same breath, to possibly put up a Pro Bowl-caliber season in only his second campaign.

Dont know much about Murray but was looking at Liufau (after reading @jarntt) & saw this.
Would love to turn him into a kickass Mike.

the reaction towards our free agent signings are gaining positive traction. I still like the two LB'ers.

"Honestly, I see us having another 12-win season. That's my prediction. 12 wins minimum. I see 12 wins," Parsons said, seemingly looking at the team's schedule on his phone.

#11 gets it...might have to bump mine up a game.

Shavon Revel talking about rehab.
"I hold myself accountable for everything, and if you are already putting that stuff in your head that you can't do it, you're already failing yourself. If I can get a C, I can get a B. If I can get a B, I can get an A, and I kind of put that in my head every single day and push forward."

When this guy gets right, he's going to play.
6'2, 195 with 4.3/4.4 speed is an imposing figure for a corner.

The Cowboys Britt Brown may be the best in the NFL at getting players rehabbed and back on the field. If you was to put in the work, he will get you ready as soon as possible. He raves about Dak's work ethic coming back strong from his injuries, and has said Overshown is an absolute warrior and is super impressed with Revel's want to. About Diggs...crickets. Telling. Diggs better be putting in the effort. Revel and Bland might make Diggs contract look very tradable

You should have gone one more sentence. "If they want to put in the work". Overshown was originally projected to miss all next season after tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL. Looks like he will be back midseason if not sooner. Diggs chose to train with his own people last time he was injured, apparently he's not big on being pushed or challenged. His injury never fully healed and he's hurt again. The player has to be willing to put in the work

Part of the job (probably the biggest part) is getting them to do the work and multiple guys have now been injured, come back and been injured again, not just Diggs. You mention Overshown, well he too was. You can't have it both ways. We have had more soft tissue injuries over the past decade than anyone. It was a joke how many hamstring and quad injuries we had every single year and even discussed on here often. Our training staff has been under a lot of criticism the last few years by fans and media and that's not an area fans or media even talk about unless something doesn't seem right. The lot of them should have been let go a couple years ago IMO. A lot of talk about Jerry not spending any money there and us not having enough bodies around whole guys are working out and helping them with minor treatments. Who knows the reason, but it hasn't been good for a decade IMO.

The Cowboys graded poorly in both the training room and training staff departments. Here is what the report offered.

Training Room
75% of Cowboys players feel they have enough full-time trainers, ranking them 30 out of 32 teams.
60% of players feel they have enough full-time physical therapists, a rank of 32 out of 32.
95% of players feel they have enough hot tub space, a rank of 9 out of 32.
88% of players feel they have enough cold tub space, a rank of 13 out of 32.
Players report that the training room is understaffed, particularly an insufficient number of physical therapists. They also feel that the training room lacks certain modalities found in most other NFL training rooms.

Training Staff

72% of Cowboys players report that they receive enough one-on-one training treatment, ranking them 29 out of 32 teams.
The players feel that their training staff slightly contributes to their overall success, ranking them 31 of 32.
This is a pretty big indictment against the way that the Cowboys go about handling their training room and staff, and this is a matter that has been brought up before. It is important to remember that these are evaluations based on the season and year that just finished, so we are talking about what preceded the Brian Schottenheimer era as he was just hired.

Mike McCarthy is gone as the team’s head coach, but he advocated often for things like this in the name of helping his players.

Yeah, but i dont think you can put reinjury on the trainer. If you or I tore our ACL, MCL and PCL, I guarantee you, our personal Dr's would tell us to never to certain things again ever if we didn't want a chance to get hurt again, certainly not do something like professional football, which is like being in several small cars wrecks in a day. The fact is, once you're hurt, you will always be more susceptible to injury. I think all you can do is work your ass off and pray you'll be ok

Possibly it is easier for this FO to blame the players if things don't go right with their rehab. I could not believe all the injuries they had last year.

Personally, I think what the league has evolved into has more to do with all the injuries today. How many times did Roger or Manster or TD or Drew Pearson or Deion tear their AL'S? How many times did Bird or Magic or MJ tear their Achilles? The NFL money is so good, everyone roads out till the league is filled with men who weigh 40-50 pounds more than God designed their bodies to weigh....then we cut padded practices? Many guys dont practice at all, just be ready on game day. Then you're going zero to 60 on gameday? It is what it is

Absolutely not always and of course not even usually. Sometimes? Maybe. My only point there was that you brought up Diggs not rehabbing properly and then being re-injured and also Overshown coming back quickly because he had a better attitude, but he too was re-injured.

I think we tend to pick and choose. For example everyone wanted to give Al Harris so much credit for all the good that happened with our DBs. Many here wanted him as our DC. But there was a lot of bad as well and I was fine with him leaving. I'm fine with the trainers leaving too. I'm not in training room so it's not like I have first hand knowledge. It's just form the outside it seems like we have the same problems every year and when you hear players and media talking about it, it usually isn't a good sign.

Agree, but this poll is a comparison of all of today's teams against each other. So it's apples to apples. We have pretty new facilities and more money than anyone. You would think we would be at the very top of the list. IMO it's telling that we aren't. I also keep thinking about Dalton Schultz's comments and how when our guys are working out it isn't serious or focused and how amazed he was when he went to Houston about how it was all business. Most of that was the tours and the such and some of that was the atmosphere which is set by the staff.
