Way to get Dad fired.
Way to get Dad fired.
that was some funny shit.Way to get Dad fired.
Looks like the Falcons aren’t going to do anything about it.Way to get Dad fired.
That doesn't mean Sanders doesn't beat him out. They took Gabriel in the 3rd because they wanted him. They didn’t want Sanders
Funny how these morons don't understand phones are easily tracked. This isn't the 1970sWay to get Dad fired.
If the owner steps in and forces the coach and gm to take a player they clearly don't want it is not nothing. This also means that the owner is likely to try and force them to play Sanders.
Browns had a clear plan, play a high floor low upside qb this year, then use their multiple 1sts in next year's qb heavy draft to get their guy. Owner stomped out all the planning of the professionals.
Sanders is inconsequential, the owner is an embarrassment.
The player or upside are irrelevant to me, an owner overriding his GM and head coach to force a pick is what is bad about it. Especially when your GM is was killing like he was in this one. Another team comes calling offering him a chance away from current ownership I think he is instantly interested.Meh.. he has been an embarassment for many reasons.. but i dont think forcing his team to take Sanders in the 5th round is one of those reasons... this has much more upside than downside...
being a 5th round pick, they have no reason to keep him on the team other than him deserving a stop on the team... and if he does get the stating role at any point, you just paid a 5th rounder for a starting QB... you a genius...

Except his forced pick overrides their choice in the 3rd round. With Sanders being hand-picked by the owner, you don't think there will be undo pressure to force the guy they clearly did not want? It is only a 5th round, but he is trampling all over a clear plan to force it. Even worse, if Sanders shows semi-competence is the owner going to prevent them from using their multiple firsts to get Arch Manning or Klubnick?ignoring previous embarassing moves... i have no problem with an owner pushing their agenda... they just HAVE to be correct...
i am sure most owners every once in a while will push something...
at least in this situation, he waited until the 5th round to push something...
again, i dont see this to be an example of bad ownership... especially when there is no downside and only upside...

Its not the midround pick, it is all the potential for other issues. Sanders is likely a slightly stronger armed Chad Pennington, and if he plays like it and they can't justify trading significant capital getting a potential elite QB it is a massive issue. The eventual blame won't fall on the owner either, even if he would be 100% at fault.
Apparently, at least what I heard is....for months now they have liked Gabriel. They had a private workout with him and dinner, so on. So they had him targeted but Haslem, the owner, saw Shedeur on the board and wanted him...so it was his call. Not sure if it was all him but the reaction in the draft room backs up that theoryDoesn't seem they have all that much faith in him though, does it
Plus, that line of thinking doesn't make any sense. They took Sanders also. So they took Sanders because they wanted him also![]()
Stop the “32 teams” BS.. only like 7-8 we’re looking for a QB.Definitely collision. All 32 teams collectively slammed their heads together, got concussed, and forgot Shedeur Sanders was in the draft
Chad Pennington had some good years, people forget himalso, a stronger armed pennington sounds pretty good to me....
Yeah, that was not a dig on Pennington, his accuracy was elite. I am just pointing out that it comes with a ceiling that is not elite. Good enough to win, but not a QB that elevates the team on his own.also, a stronger armed pennington sounds pretty good to me....

What happened? It was a 3 headed monster for this kid:
1. His Dad went on multiple shows in January and said there were certain teams they wouldn’t play for, and they would dictate things. And, the bad teams that heard that assumed it was them, and listened.
2. Sanders reportedly didn’t represent himself well in interviews at all. You’d think Deion would coach his kid up to be what teams want, not to be something they don’t
3. The sports media has a hand in it. Deion worked for all the big names, and I think his friends and colleagues didn’t want to harm Deion’s kid because they like Deion, so they all sat back and didn’t say anything and let the lie remain (kind of like how the MSM sat back and refused to say anything when Joe Biden was clearly demented)
All-in-all.. Deion largely directly or indirectly caused his kid to fall. That being said, Sanders has all the motivation in the world to come out and prove everyone wrong.
As a Browns fan, I’m fine with getting him at 144 in the 5th round.
But there was no collusion. Deion just led his kid astray and sabotaged his draft stock, and the media played a long
