Guess we will see...my guess is will be more like 90% and 30 or so plays on other side. Hope he waits until after year 1 to become a star if he does (to help out our draft pick next year).

I hope to see it to. The last true player we had that did both roles was in the 60s.

Are we going to get a modern day Ohtani (COMPLETELY different sport, so do not take that with any amount of substance) in the NFL? I mean if we can... that's fuckin' cool.

That said, we have to be rational. I want to remind you and everyone here, this is NOT likely to happen. It's a VERY different sport, we haven't seen this for years. We have expanded rosters and schedules/games... so expecting him to play both sides consistently RIDICULOUS.

And let's go back to the original point.. the Jags gave up a TON to the Browns to trade up for something that has never happened. It's an "We're ALL IN ON BLACK (edit or red, Jesus someone is going to find this racist)" kind of gambling move. Stupid.. if it works out hey, but LOW probability. That's where I'm going. You're playing Keno at this point.

It's a business move. It was to get people in the seats.. (or the dumb pools Jacksonville put in their stadiums). That's honestly where we're at.

This may be optimistic, but a doctor told Campbell he should be ready to return from the labrum surgery by training camp.


Even if he misses some of that, I really doubt he misses the season based on this injury. And I see no reporting that he needs a second shoulder surgery. Where are you getting that?

My prediction is that he probably doesn't start opening day, but like Cooper DeJean, he slides in after a few games and becomes a core starter.

Its easily one of the most interesting picks. Campbell was both simultaneously a top 10 talent and a 2nd round player. Eagles were the team that turned Haason Reddicks career around. Its the perfect spot for Campbell. I made a comment on why Howie is the best GM is because he takes smart risks. Because the risks are smart, they pay off and allow him to take future smart risks and he is able to add more talent than other GMs because he has balls. Lots of teams in this draft took a guy who interviewed well and project as an okay starter in rd1.

Chiefs didn't do that, either, but Simmons is a bigger risk (and imo bigger reward) than Campbell. Campbell is much more likely to be a double or triple in the gap.

Curious.....this is not something we see in college either so before he did it did you remind everyone how we have to be rational and it's not likely to happen?

Starks was a beyond steal for the Ravens.

Campbell/Simmons are boom bust prospects (based on injury only) that are interesting. I think Campbell especially will be a steal if they just do all the surgery on him now to get him back to playing form. Simmons is a yellow flag on my end.

And I'm a shark. I eat people for a living. I know what is healthy and not!

Totally agree but Hunter an unknown as much as the rest as far as what he will do in NFL.....and the Julio comparison is absurd considering we moved down into the 20s in a weak draft.

Also think Wright is a legit edge as a #2. so are a couple others. If we can do better though great.....not at expense of badly needed O IMO.

To your actual question, I thought the idea of drafting a two way player and inflating his draft stock, was absolutely ridiculous. Trading up that much was beyond levels of insanity... the game is different now.

It's a business move by Jacksonville. It's to get money back immediately. That's all it is. This is not going to produce anything meaningful.

Of course not the same but neither are HS and college and would be willing to bet you would have said no way he can play both sides in college for same reasons you claim he can't in NFL (hasn't been done, etc).
