No idea. Injuries could dictate. If we want to step up to challenge the BIG BOYS, though, getting star power is a must. JHL and Ramos, I think, are good enough, but Yaz can be replaced. I have never been that high on Matos, so I don’t see him being any kind of roadblock in adding a stud OFer. I also like the idea of Fitz as a utility player, so I think 2B is an opportunity for improvement. As much as Bailey is a wizard with the glove, he really has developed into a one-dimensional player, so there is room for improvement there as well. Maybe get a 1B at the deadline as a rental? I don’t want to block Eldridge, though, but we have to remember that he is in no way a sure thing.

Yaz is a solid #3 OF; I don’t know that we need to replace him. He’s good for 2-3 WAR.

First base, maybe second base is the black hole.

Also, it would be super nice if our franchise record contract SS would get going.

Admittedly, a cherry-picked sample, but an encouraging trend nonetheless. Marco Luciano is slashing .351/.455/.595 (.243 ISO, 168 wRC+) with 2 home runs and 8 RBI in 44 plate appearances since April 10.

Still having a crappy season. But nice to see they are playing him at 2B and SS. 9 games at 2B, 9 games at SS, 7 games as DH. No reps in the OF. Not sure if that is concerning or promising.

Bryce Eldridge has been activated and assigned to the Richmond Squirrels roster today, He should get his first game in today on their road trip in Akron.

You gotta figure he is on the fast track at point. But as I have said before, I want him playing defense, so even if that delays his arrival by a year, I don’t want him coming up as a DH.
