1st, defenses work pretty hard to defend the 3 point line today. They actually try to force contested mid range shots. THAT is where defense is loosest and those are the shots easiest to get today.

2nd, they absolutely do work to get to the hoop today.

3rd, show me a team who is just standing around the arc? There is always action occupying potential help defenders. Could be pick and roll action or something else Like a drive and kick. but if you think people are just standing around, it is you that doesn’t get it.

Id say at times there is almost too much movement. What many people miss is the post ISO, which allowed for more post play less contested mid range shots.

I think pick and roll can look stagnant at time also, but those corner spacers are pretty important for making that action effective.

Watching Malone pick and roll from the 90s with the illegal defense rules looked really silly. There were literally 3 offensive players standing above the break close enough to hold hands on some possessions.

Simply not true. Lebrons issue is he talks out of his ass without the facts, which is his right, but when badly wrong he never admits it or apologizes.
