As much as I'm a fan of Isaiah McGuire I don't think he would have any bearing on whether or not you take a prospect like Abdul Carter. Carter is a blue chip prospect. If we are talking body types, McGuire is a bigger dude than Carter. Carter is in the 11th percentile in weight currently. I think the Browns often have a run defender opposite of Garrett like when Clowney was there. The fit doesnt seem to make a ton of sense at least initially.

It would be a weird thing to do but maybe the Browns are trying to create a trade market for someone to come up to 2 and take Carter. Its really difficult to trade up to 2, though. You're probably just talking about the Patriots at 4 and they dont have the luxury of giving up picks imo.

Yeah, while I do think we have some decent options as the #2 DE opposite Garrett none are a reason not to take Carter.

Browns are playing it as they should........don't let anyone have a clue what they might do.

I think the Giants clearly know. The public is in the dark, though.

Nah....I don't think the Giants know. an educated guess? sure. But I'm sure they are likely set on a couple guys (and confident at least 1 will be there).

For sure public in the dark. I'm guessing there are some in building they wont tell, let alone make it known to media/public.

The Giants have probably been to every Colorado game this year with a scout team. I suspect they have a pretty firm grade on Sanders one way or the other.

They've got Isaiah McQuire, Tryon-Shoyinka and Oko in the mix. I agree that edge rusher is not an urgent need.
None of those guys are viable pass rushers. They might be solid 3rd or 4th edge guys, but they'd have no impact on taking Abdul if the Browns had a QB.

If you think Shedeur is a franchise QB, you have to go that route. I do think Shedeur would be a great fit in Stefanski's offense.

I have no doubt. Same with Browns. Will they be right on him? Who knows....as we know even elite FOs miss on QBs all the time.

I think McGuire and Wright are serviceable if healthy but agree none stop you from taking Carter if you don't love a QB there.

Yeah, when the best you can say is 'serviceable when healthy', you could use an upgrade lol.

FWIW McGuire's PFF grade is 83.3 and they have him as the 4th best run defender at Edge last year. Carter strengths are so different that its apples and oranges imo.

I don't hold much stock in PFF grades.

That said, even if I am underrating him, they are totally different players as stated and McGuire would be better served as a 3rd edge early down type of guy.

Carter just seems like such a luxury. I'm about 95% convinced the Browns are going QB

Not sure I'd go as high as 95% but assuming we stay at 2 very good chance it's QB IMO. If I had to be it's where my $$ would go.

I’m becoming more and more sure the Browns are going to take Sanders. I’m pretty sure Ward/Sanders go 1-2, then Hunter goes to the G-Men then Carter goes to the Pats.

Total agreement - Ward and Dart will go 1-2.

Browns will Brown.
Not sure how THIS regime has "Brownsed" other than Watson fiasco which many teams tried to do. But, hell, if they love Dart and 2 is only area they feel like they can be sure they get him then grab him at 2.

Better be right, though......and, yes, would be shocked if that was the pick.
