I have a feeling we will see a lot of Olineman drafted by the hawks in their first 5 picks.

Well, we should find out how much that will be a thing by tomorrow EOD (Jenkins).

We have needs at DL, EDGE, and if Mac wants Emmanwori... well, that's a thing too... lol. And if we do want a QB this draft, yah, resources start to dwindle. I was not a huge fan of Kupp, but I'm a less fan of it now given we spent $37.5M this year on Darnold. I can't imagine how we get Jenkins to work given that.

Took a I'd look at teams drafting after the Seahawks who need OL. (Using NFL.com)

Jensen plays fine when healthy, but he can't stay healthy, which is why he is still available. Seahawks don't find a solution for the OL the season is finished, every other need, every other want, can wait until they finish building the OL IMO. Don't get cute, just man up and draft the best OL available that fit zone blocking. Then you can address other things.

I tagged Emmanwori as one of my wants like 4 to 6 months ago on this very board. Hawks need a big Safety and have been in need of a in the box safety for some time now. I will not be unhappy if they draft him.

well it's good to see the injury list get smaller instead of growing more. We need all these guys back ASAP.

So who is the stud Linebacker/s in the 2025 draft? lol Jalon Walker*?? (MLB)Danny Stutsman??? Jihaad Campbell??? Nick Martin??? (MLB) Lander Barton. Maybe safety Nick Emmanwori

* He is the one i want.

I myself would like to see a bigger strong safety taken in the mid to late first.

taken from a mock that has us taking Emmanwori.
Nick Emmanwori’s latest comp is to that of Washington Commanders safety Jeremy Chinn, but that might actually undersell the athleticism and elite traits Emmanwori brings to the table. He’s poised to light up the Combine with his testing numbers and has consistently displayed elite athleticism for South Carolina throughout 2024.

Emmanwori is a true three-down safety with the hard-hitting mindset of an old-school enforcer, reminiscent of the Legion of Boom days.

I see linebacker as a BIG weakness on this team. These guys are not filling the hole they are late to react and only one of them seems to have the right make-up to cover sideline to sideline and he is a rookie. Your two middle linebackers in a 3-4 need to be fast, quick reacting players. There are some good Linebackers ( OLB and ILB ) in this coming draft that the Hawks can grab late in the 1st ( Trade back/Trade up ) or early 2nd if lucky.

Good linebackers can fix a lot of evil in the running game defense. I see a lot of uncovered Seahawks Linebackers just not making plays. What i mean by uncovered is they are not being harrassed to much by blockers because they have to keep guys in to account for the Hawks DL and DE's This in turn cuts down the number of plays made by the DL and DE's leaving Linebackers to fill and make plays ( Like they are supposed to ) there is a reason Linebackers typically lead the league in tackles every year lol.

Linebackers are SO VERY crucial to a successfull defense.

Also a nice SS that is 6-2+ 220+ that can come up to the line and play like a linebacker but can handle TE's and WR's. There are some of those in this draft also. S Nick Emmanwori would be a cool fit in that role. 6-3 220 and great speed at around 4.4.

Still don't see a QB i like, it's been pretty dry there lately.

I 100% expect Guard Jenkins to sign with the Seahawks today some time or tomorrow. If he is signed by the Hawks i 100% expect him to miss at least 2 games if not more with injury. Even though he is a little injury prone he isn't a bad option at guard. 2022 he ranked 3rd in the NFL and in 2023 and 2024 he was 13th. Head and sholders above anything we have had at guard for a few years.

JS CAN NOT strike out here, he has shoved the thought of getting Oline help so far up his ass it has all but vanished. Jenkins matches JS MO, a once good or a injury prone player.

They are talking Jenkins on 710 right now. Strengths: athletic, high upside, plays at a pro bowl level when healthy. Downside: dinged up a lot "to the point where you wonder if he really, really wants to do this." The quoted part is Brock paraphrasing what he's told by his Chicago connections, and that is definitely a concerning description. And that's probably a big reason why he's still out there on the market.

Jenkins is fine because you simply have a hole there. But you still have to be drafting OL...

Lucas for example is the starter. Like Jenkins you can't expect that guy to last a full season. And Josh Jones isn't the answer as well. Ideally we get Jenkins on a 2 year deal with incentives to keep our cap low... because with $37.5M going to Bradford this year, I can't imagine we have much left.

Nwosu has accepted a $7 million pay cut for the 2025 season, per Brian Nemhauser on X. In return he will get $6.98 million in guaranteed money and a $4 million signing bonus.

Thought the Nwosu new deal might lead to signing Jenkins, guess not.

Welp... draft it is.

I do think Olu and Haynes could be fine starters. Haynes was an earlier 3rd round pick! The guy played RG wide zone blocking his entire life... fuckin' start him. If we bench him for Bradford again I'm gonna lose it next year. Lucas is a "This is a disaster" or "We got lucky." Olu actually did okay last year but he's not great at zone blocking. Cross is a stud, I don't care what anyone says. Pro bowl snub 100%.

That leaves left guard. I don't like the idea of drafting and plug and playing left guard, but we might not have a choice. We shored up EDGE, WR, backup OT, deep threat WR.. we're kind of left with interior OL and DL at this point and maybe another WR. Looks like Seattle is goin' balls deep for the draft. Develop the young guys and make 2026 your 'go for it' year....

Very similar to what Pete did. Need a good draft. That's easier said than done but it looks like Seattle is pushing their chips that way. Bring in veteran locker room leaders.. develop young talent, and pray.

So i read he played in 14 games last year and only finished 7 of them. Once i read that about him i was like pass, I knew he was injury prone but i didnt know it was THAT bad. This guy doesn't want to play football.

Yah just wasn't a great year for free agents. Zeitler is great but also coming off an injury (and older). I mean he went to Tennessee so whatever. He's certainly not winning a Championship there. Seems like everyone else overpaid or just grabbed for the sake of grabbing. Just wasn't a strong free agent OL class. I guess Thuney was the big ticket item, but it's fairly obvious he wanted Chicago.

I dunno... it has to come down to the draft sometimes and developing what you have. We just spent an early 3rd on Haynes and then had him INACTIVE some games (when he was healthy) with Bradford starting? I mean at some point that's coaching or just dumbassery at the FO level.

So we are going into the draft with no LG. That's just great.

They'll sign someone, just not anyone good, some minimum wage type, we are familiar with that approach. JS has his good points but roster construction was never his strong suit. I'm just worried they wait to draft IOL, at this point. I could see Macdonald loving some defensive player and the Seahawks taking defensive to start the draft, followed by a WR, then a QB then IOL.

there will be some cuts after the draft on over priced players and/or aging Vet that isn't playing great. It is what it is, typical JS digging in the trash for starting Olineman.

Can't count out a trade also with all the extra picks we got. We wont know what we have till the start of the season.

Yeah, I’m not gonna panic until training. Camp hits. Still lots of movement in the NFL, including draft, cuts, trades, etc..
