It's sucks the NFL doesn't release contract and cap info immediately during free agency. Obviously they have to know the info to make these signing legit but they delay giving out the info for some reason. We are sitting here wondering what cap space the Seahawks have left after the latest signing, obviously the Seahawks know, obviously the NFL knows but they with hold the info. Very frustrating for fans.

I mean tampering aside (which I think every team is doing, it's just who is dumb enough to document it), there's a lot of structuring that can go into those contracts. Legal for all these NFL teams is working overtime right now, but that's a full day job.. I help negotiate contracts (different market) routinely on the pricing/finance end.. it's longer than a day process...

Now that said, yes, the organization has an idea or ask of the legal/finance team where they want to go, so they can continue to make moves in an aggressive market... but finalizing it is the issue. And a lot of sites aren't gonna report that. If I worked for the Seahawks I could say, "Harold Sam and D Laws contract is going to basically look like this." But of course I can't publicize that.

I would assume disclosing this information has some legality behind it and a signing by both parties. Dunno NFL labor/contract laws. Background checks are probably required, etc. You and I sign a contract, but it's not public... the NFL makes it public to give transparency to the public for money spent, etc. because that's part of the business model... so yah.

Look at sites even like WalterFootball... grading Seattle a D because we did a 3 year $42M deal for D Law. Well... turns out it's not. It's a 3 year $32M deal with incentives.

Sites like OverTheCap/Spotrac, etc. don't want to lose credibility for misreporting info or the particulars.

If there is ever a time where data about the cap is at max value to consumers it's during free agency. Don't want to be wrong, OK then have a tab for projected estimates on contracts and cap space pending finalization of contracts. Instead they are useless when most needed for consumers, leaving us in the dark to come up with our own guesses when it really matters. I feel there is a opportunity for a company to provide their best estimates and put these useless bastards out of business. The market is hungry for this info. someone should capitalize on it.

Even if it's an AAV of $15M (which doesn't really mean a whole lot without knowing the details), bringing Kupp on board is a solid move. I think it's been a pretty good week.

If they sign Jenkins and/or Becton then I think it was a great week.

I wanted him out of college - hope he still has something in the tank.

I think he can still contribute but it's doubtful he can tilt the field like he did a few years ago. But if we can get the OL improved and give him an extra second to get separation, he will be effective.

Yeah, no way can you count on or consider him to be a WR1 at this point, but if he's right then he'll contribute quite a bit as a possession guy.

I love what we’re doing. We are definitely going to be running the ball quite a bit. Most of the changes we’ve made it to ensure that we are successful at running the ball. I’m excited to see how good our run game can be with how much we’ve invested at that position over the last few years.

Totally agree. We *may* not go into the upcoming season with as much overall talent on offense, but we are setting the stage to be better at the things this coaching staff values the most. We are no longer over-leveraged at WR, got younger & cheaper at QB, and we have substantially more cap space and draft capital than a week ago. Now we gotta focus on improving the trenches.

I have to wait on the contract details but at 3 years $45M if it's like some $25M guaranteed, GOOD FUCKING LORD WHAT IS SEATTLE DOING!?

$15M per? WTF!? Maybe this was just a play to entice Jenkins to sign with us.

I have to give this an F grade right now. I was thinking 2 years $17M or something.. which STILL would've been an overpay (1 year $5M would've been appropriate).

3 years $45M? Hopefully it's like D Laws contract.. 3 years $30M (up to $45M in incentives) and around $15M guaranteed. And even then I'm grading this in the C range.

Good fuckin lord... Kupp is completely washed... if Lockett signs some 2 year $10M deal I'm going to lose my shit.

So 15m per for an old washed up wr but can't do 18 for an OL that you desperately need?
This year is going to be a disaster

Lolwut? It's ok to be concerned about whether or not he can stay healthy, but he played 5 games less than Tyler last year and had more yards, receptions, and TDs. He's a smart, hard working, talented player... with what is still available in FA, what are you concerned tgat we passed on to sign him at a position of need?
