No More "Bullpen Failure"
Preview from Athlon Sports
The Texas Rangers hit the road for their first trip of the season when they take on the Tampa Bay Rays starting on Monday evening.
The three-game series concludes Wednesday. It's the Rangers’ first trip to Tampa since they swept the American League Wild Card series at Tropicana Field in October. That jump-started the Rangers’ playoff run, which included a record 11-0 road record on their way to the franchise’s first World Series title.
The Rangers lost their first game of the season on Sunday, falling to the Chicago Cubs 9-5. They were tied at 5-5 going into the ninth inning, but control issues by closer Jose Leclerc put them in a bind. After he walked home the go-ahead run, the floodgates opened for the Cubs.
Marcus Semein went 2-for-5 and drove in three runs for the Rangers, while Ezequiel Duran also had two hits, both infield singles. The Rangers left nine runners on base.
Here is the preview for the game, with probable pitchers, starting lineups, how to watch and listen, injury updates, and more.
