Did you talk to the fans to get a feeling of what they thought about him?

Didn't get much feedback one way or the other.

He hit a few homers, drove in a few runs, took some walks, struck out too much (looking). Still played an excellent 1b, but only 29 games this season (69 as DH).

The fans were appreciative, but not enthusiastic. The team belongs to Vlad Jr and Bichette Jr.

Pretty cool stadium, though, if on the older side. The roof opened just as I got there. Took about 20 minutes. Three roof panels folded in on one another, and the 4th panel rotated around the stadium to nestle with the other three.

Rereading my post, it came across as MUCH more aggressive than I intended. I was/am very glad that Mays pushed that idea. It led to lots of humor and good natured ribbing on the site. Similar to my takes on Belt. They were based on my real opinions, but I talked them up for entertainment value.
Proof that you don't always know what you are talking about. :D

Posting tweets doesn’t appear to be working for me again…

Anyway, it is official. Giants announced it on X. Presser scheduled for 10:30 this AM.

Relax. He doesn’t know about your situation, and you have to admit, your posts are a bit…. odd…. when it comes to punctuation and spelling.

He knows now.

But yes. Being an asshole DOES come naturally to him.
This is a fair point.

For example, he uses a picture of Mark Melancon as his avatar. :heh:

and fuck you very much for depressing me regarding SF11704. It has been over a year now, and he was the most senior of us all. I think it is safe to assume what happened at this point.

 :rip:
goodness, lets hope not.

I am not a fan, but it was either sign him to an extension, or fire him now. And it is too late to fire him now.
They really could have left him with a contract that went through 2024 only. Maybe that made Melvin too nervous to commit but I would have preferred that. Sure, the Giants can still let FZ go after the 2024 season if it is another disappointment but it seems less likely that would happen with this extension.

This offseason seems to be shaping up as quite a game of musical chairs for managers. The Guardians and Astros will likely have their managers retiring. The Angels, Mets, Giants and Padres let their managers go. The Brewers have given the Mets permission to interview their manager who will have an expired contract soon. Who knows what other teams will terminate their managers in the next month. We could see 1/3 of MLB hiring new managers between October and December.

We have to take the good with the bad. I think Melvin is going to have a lot of pull with his experience, that is of course why they hired him. So hopefully that also means some of his opinions overrides Mr. Z opinions. And we shall be in the playoffs in 2024.
