Out of his control once he declares. Richardson should have sat this year as well. Colts had another idea.

he was the poster child for someone that should've sat. They got Minshew...and I get that fans would've been clamoring for AR but you gotta stay the course. I'm aware that's unrealistic though.

Literally anything is better than what Chicago has now

I could see the Miami OC getting a lot of looks but you wonder how much is McDaniel.

That said I could see a lot of coaches wanting Chicago given the potential they could have the top 2 picks.

Sure. If we believe in his supposed list of teams, Caleb doesn't want Chicago though. I think the Bears becoming a QB led team is a bit unlikely, but that's probably just decades of past bad experiences coloring my mind lol. They are eternally a run and defense team until I see otherwise I guess? The right guy could change all of that if they can build around him quickly enough.

I agree.

They have a better shot to win the South with Minshew. Richardson has upside and all but Minshew is a better player right now.

They were winning with either guy. They've lost two games to the Jags and one to the Rams that AR brought them back to force OT in.

I expected worse out of AR this season, he's impressed me (but still very raw of course).

Honestly I think Chicago sees really quickly Fields is their only chance for any kind of success to save their jobs and they end up ahead of New England or Arizona or something. BB has the luxury of tanking to help his own cause

Broncos and Giants will be in that mix too.

I’m not talking economics. I’m talking development. He’s an athlete/skill set and he doesn’t know how to play QB yet. He faced the closest thing he’ll see to a defense that employs NFL concepts of blitz and disguise and he was totally clueless and had no idea what he was looking at.
He’s with the qb guru, if he isn’t learning it’s because he doesn’t want to.

I know it won't happen but maybe sitting for a year in NFL is the best. We saw Mahomes do it. Rodgers did it for several years. That seems to be the best thing for a lot of guys having success

I wish more teams would do that. I think you'd see fewer QB's struggling. Where a QB ends up often determines much of their success.

Jones Watson Russ are all untradable lol

In terms of a guy like Jones I don't know how you can bite down and swallow giving him that much of your cap.

He's likely a Giant for one more season unless he corrects course. They can dump him after the 2024 season for $22M in dead cap. His cap hit is only $15M this season (but $47 next season, average of about $31M). That hit next year will really hurt.

Russ has at least 2 more years locked in (potential out for $31M in dead cap after 2025, which might be a hit they have to take).

Watson has 3 more years locked and guaranteed (of course)

Not really. He does run a good bit, but often they are designed runs because he's a true weapon with his legs. When he's scrambling, he usually has his eyes upfield looking for someone to break open.

Where I agree that he may run too much is on some option plays. USC has 2 very good RB's and I'd like to see him let them take the ball a little more. There have been a few times when he has been late making the decision whether to keep the ball or let go and that has led to tackles for loss and a couple of fumbles.
I'm not talking about designed runs. I'm talking about holding the ball too long then forcing throws. Another thing he needs to realize, it's ok to throw it out of bounds. I get a lot of the time he just trying to extend the plays (like you said keeping his eyes downfield) and he does a great job of it but that will get you into trouble in the NFL if you try it almost every play. That's what we saw in the ND game.

I'd say he does more than just about any other host. He literally has a segment called "Where Colin was right, Where Colin was wrong" and calls himself out for being wrong.
Yeah and most of those segments are pretty tick tack predictions if I am being honest. He focuses more on where he was right to point out the "more important" topics. He hosts his own show for a reason, the guy can talk his way out of everything. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

Broncos better off trading that picks for a handful of picks and moving back bc they would be the only team that isn't interested in a QB. I mean if they did take one he is sitting for a couple years. You can't give all that money to Wilson and sit him.
