Just watched Cowherd to see if he would eat crow on saying this.

In his defense he did. He said i look at USC and I see flash and NIL, I look at OU and Georgia and I see football teams with foundations. Good for him.

Ehh, not really. Not where he is anyway.
I’m not talking economics. I’m talking development. He’s an athlete/skill set and he doesn’t know how to play QB yet. He faced the closest thing he’ll see to a defense that employs NFL concepts of blitz and disguise and he was totally clueless and had no idea what he was looking at.

No matter where he goes he will have a much better offensive line. He won’t be able to win half the time with flash alone though, flash does nothing at that level.
Yeah I think he runs around too often. Guys like Mahomes and Allen do that but not all the time, only when they have to. I feel he does it WAY too often and that's what Fields does as well.

He would benefit from another year of college.
idk he is the clear #1 pick. Not saying that is a good reason but he likely learns more in the NFL than he would at USC. He will see real defenses in the B1G though lol

If Chicago drafts he should just comeback for a year. His development will stay stagnant in Chicago

with who they have now

yes

I have to assume they will be fired
I would hope so for the sake of their fans. They need to clean house from GM on down bc if not, they will still hire the same asshats

The chances that he’s going to find an OC in the NFL that is a better offensive mind and better at coaching QBs than Lincoln Riley is a crap shoot.

Most places. Like I said, it’s a crap shoot that someone better than Riley is out there to develop him.

Not really. He does run a good bit, but often they are designed runs because he's a true weapon with his legs. When he's scrambling, he usually has his eyes upfield looking for someone to break open.

Where I agree that he may run too much is on some option plays. USC has 2 very good RB's and I'd like to see him let them take the ball a little more. There have been a few times when he has been late making the decision whether to keep the ball or let go and that has led to tackles for loss and a couple of fumbles.

I don't have faith that the next guys will be significantly better. Chicago has historically been a black hole for QBs; they're jinxed. Is there an OC or QB coach that you could see them hiring that would be a bonus in terms of grooming a young QB?

I know it won't happen but maybe sitting for a year in NFL is the best. We saw Mahomes do it. Rodgers did it for several years. That seems to be the best thing for a lot of guys having success

It's a luxury most aren't afforded though.

Out of his control once he declares. Richardson should have sat this year as well. Colts had another idea.

Literally anything is better than what Chicago has now

I could see the Miami OC getting a lot of looks but you wonder how much is McDaniel.

That said I could see a lot of coaches wanting Chicago given the potential they could have the top 2 picks.
