They missed on so many things that if they handled just one correctly, it could have saved the conference. Not partnering with ESPN or Fox (or damn near any network) to run the PAC-12 Network was incredibly stupid.

Bringing in Texas and OU would have not only put the PAC on par with the SEC and B1G, it would have all but killed the Big 12. If memory serves, one of the main sticking points that killed that was the LHN.
Yeah and back then I imagine OU was still demanding that Ok St come along. Money eventually made them change that stance. That shouldn’t have changed anything for the PAC though.

Usc and the irish both got caught looking ahead

I hope that's all it is because USC has been out of sorts on both sides of the ball since about halfway through the 3rd quarter vs. Colorado.

Around here the talk of the PAC goes back about 10 years when the rumors of OU and Texas coming were snuffed out by elitist thinking. Remember the Keith Jackson comments? That didn’t work out but they sure could have gotten ahead of all of this

The longhorn network killed that

Protecting QBs is an embarrassment

It’s like saying the best pitchers and hitters should get a better strike zone

Yes and no. The QB is definitely over protected. However, they also end up in situations where they are a "defenseless player" more than any other player.

So I do agree with some extra rules to protect them.

I do think though that often times the refs follow the "letter of the law" when they should be following the "spirit of the law". We've all seen calls made because the QB was "hit in the head" only to see on replay that the defenders arm or hand grazed the helmet.

It’s football

Either go 7 or 7 or treat them like football players
