It makes me laugh when people try to post athlete opinions on GOAT lists as if they somehow hold more weight than ours.

Some of the worst lists I have ever seen are made by pro athletes.

I am not saying that I know anywhere near as much about football as DK Metcalf.

But I could sure put together a better all time WR list.
Yeah....totally agree.

LOL.

For sure.

They are too close to the action to be objective.

In most cases.

Right?

SMH at AB #1 all time and Rice at #4.

Just insanity at it's finest.

Rice is the best wr of all time.

Another WTF from that was Julio Jones. Gimme Megatron instead.

One of the worst top 5 wr lists I've seen.

OK I'm gonna play devil's advocate, because arguing is what we do here. First let me say my list is different, I wouldn't put them in that order and a couple wouldn't be top 5.

That said....perhaps he isn't evaluating the question based on total body of work and so on. Maybe it's just him, as a WR himself, looking back at how those guys played, what he saw them do, knowing intimately what they did and how hard it is, and saying to himself, those were the best at the profession.

So Rice is usually and rightly at the top of the list, for longevity and numbers. But maybe to him he saw Moss and Owens and Brown actually perform in a way that as another WR he saw them and said 'that's the best I ever saw'

And of course there's recency bias like most have making these lists, Rice is the oldest on the list, he didn't see him play as an adult or even much at all. It's like kids today who think LeBron is better than MJ because they barely know about MJ (my kids don't have any idea who he is really, he's just some old player everyone says was the best like Babe Ruth)

Doubt there's a lot of tennis fans on here but Djoker vs Alcarez at the finals of Wimbledon tomorrow is must see tv.

Alcarez is basically a mini Nadal but got the potential to be better

Brown at 1 is the only real issue i have with it.
