Calarco was a 5th year senior at Mississippi after spending his first 4 years playing for Northwestern. He hit very well at Northwestern in 2022, but took a step back this year. His OPS slipped from 1.050 to .801.Undrafted free agent signings so far:
Texas Rangers
- Anthony Calarco, 1B, Mississippi
- Devin Hurdle, INF, Omaha
- Logan Bursick-Harrington, RHP, Davenport
Only the Angels have signed more so far.
This is the kind of stuff the old regime would do.In Matt Bush's last 5 appearances covering 3.2 innings, he has allowed 8 earned runs.
Maybe it is to help out with AAA staffing with bringing Speas up soon, in mind. This is the kind of stuff the old regime would do.
exactly. that's why the Lance Lynn rumors make me think Jon is back. it's the kind of move he'd makeThis is the kind of stuff the old regime would do.

I think we will eventually need a couple of hitting upgrades before we can expect to make it to another WS.We spend a lot of time on pitching but how much criticism might have be spared if our offense had produced. Several games were lost because the hitters did not produce but the pitchers W/L record all reflects on the pitcher.
All pitchers will have off days but not necessarily bad enough to absorb a loss if runs can be scored instead of RISP failure. I think we have a huge problem that doesn't get addressed properly.
Yankees have their issues as well but hopefully we get going again. We only have a 3 game lead on the Yankees for the last wild card spot. If we don't play a lot better after the break we could be 2 or 3 games out in the wildcard race by the end of the month.
Our hitting is not bad overall. Just like pitchers the hitters are not robots who take care of business with men on 3rd and less than 2 outs every time. I would like us stop using guys who have no future here and haven't produced overall and have no foot speed. We spend a lot of time on pitching but how much criticism might have be spared if our offense had produced. I have always liked Goldschmidt and he would still have 1 year on his contract. Montgomery would be a rental so would need to be careful what we would give away.St. Louis is rebuilding. Would like to snag Goldschmidt and Montgomery, but I don't think we have what they are looking for.
