Every guy that didn’t take the terrorist’s money and was loyal to the PGA Tour got fucked over royally today.
I wonder if the LIV players keep their deals or how that will work

How badly did they fuck over Rory McIlroy. They convinced him that it was for the good of the game for him to stand up and be a poster child for the PGA and be an Anti-LIV golf guy and then they go and do this. So fucking sad.

I’m not sure to be honest. Even if it’s only pro rated, they’ve already won big time.
The ones that took deals hit the lottery. The ones that didn’t are going to be bitter. Basically the pga tour took the same money they blasted players for taking.

Supposedly they will have to pay a steep fine to regain their PGA tour membership, but with the money they got, I doubt its steep enough to make a difference. If you signed a 100 mil deal and they give you a "steep" 5 mil fine, you're still 95 mil up. I'm more curious if the LIV players contracts will be honored (I assume so). Like when they signed their deals, did they get all their cash at once? Is it pro-rated with guarantees? Because while they don't mention it here, I will bet good money that LIV will be phased out over the next few years. It's product sucked and no one gave a shit about it. They can't get rid of it right away but I see no reason business-wise to keep it afloat considering the Saudis got what they wanted (buying into the PGA). So if LIV is phased out, in say 4 years, but a player signed an 8 year deal, do they still get all that money?

What is being said at the moment is that the US state dept was likely leaning on the PGA on this, since Saudi Arabia is officially an allie. It is also being said that the big names that turned down deals are likely going to get a payout over this.

I would think it was protated with guarantees but if it wasn’t then those LIV players are winnning BIG. And if they did fizzle out I would think that shouldn’t affect the players and their contracts. Not something you just include in terms…we be interested to hear details though

Going to be interesting to see if the PGA can get Tiger and McIlroy to tow the company line. Tiger turned down 700 million and Rory was likely close to that.

Idiots. Give him money but I knew that huge, long-term deal would bite them in the ass. Only 5 starts in
