1) OKC - They'll run the league soon as Sam Presti is best in the business at stockpiling picks and making the most of them. SGA is a superstar.

2) Pacers - Tyrese Haliburton is as good as it gets for his age at making guys around him better. Would like a more modernized FO, though. Add Dillon Brooks and they'll beat the Nuggets in the 2024 finals.

3) Jazz - So far so good in the Ainge regime. The 2027 Lakers pick ought to be a good one as LeBron will be 43 and likely long gone from the team anyway. Still worth questioning if Ainge regrets making the Lakers better in the short term.

4) Orlando - He didn't have much competition for ROY, but would like to see more efficiency out of Banchero. Still a lot of raw talent on this team to work around.

5) Detroit - Unless they get Wemby their rebuild has been an utter waste of time.

Forgot about Houston. Tari Eason an underrated prospect that will keep them out of the Brooks sweepstakes....

The Lakers pick in '27 will be a good one? Based off of what?

I mean, sure it could happen. But what's your reasoning?

Pacers don’t even belong on that list. At best Halliburton is a Robin. They still don’t have a Batman or even a pathway to getting them. They can’t defend a lick. That was likely the worst defense in the NBA. Guys like Hield and Turner are abject pussies who will never win anything in their careers and they seemingly are going to part of the rebuild. They have no chance to be good. They’re a black hole.

LeBron will be gone. Unless you plan on digging out a mid-20's superstar out of the mountains of Southern California, the Lakers won't be too good in 2027.

Yeah, I guess once Lebron goes, nobody will want a max contract to play in LA

Wouldn't it be funny if Jokic went to the Lakers to finally win a title? His contract expires with Denver roughly around that time, right?

I'm sure you'll have your share of certified nutlickers, but this is a pure hate post. If you can't see what first time all-star Haliburton brings to the table then there's no helping you.

FYI Hield is 30 with a year left on his deal. His future beyond 2024 is still up in the air.

He brings you 20 and 10 on a garbage team with someone needed to play make and take shots. The pace they play with gave him the possessions to put up those numbers and there’s no way he should have been an All Star over James Harden. You can’t use some feel good fugaze media selection as evidence that your guy is now a guy who can be the best player on a contender. I like him but he’s not that guy. On a real contender Halliburton is no better than the 2nd best player or even 3rd best player. Look at every team left in the playoffs. He’s third fiddle to Brunson and Randle in NY. Third guy to Butler and Bam in Miami. Third guy to Embiid Harden in Philly. 3rd guy to Tatum Brown in Boston. 3rd guy to LeBron and KD. Third guy to Splash brothers. Third guy to KD and Book and third guy to Jokic and Murray. He’s all they have with some guys with decent role player trajectory like Mathurin and the Oregon kid who is already pushing 30.

lol

Soooo, Lebron will be gone. Given his injury history and the fact that he will be 34...solid chance that AD will be gone too.

What a shame that the Lakers will have all that cap space and no max level players to take it because they don't play in a destination city like Denver or Indianapolis. lol

Jokic is 28 and under contract until at least 2027 anyway. False hope.

Nah, man. Haliburton is really good and will be a multi-time all star. Mathurin trailed off a little bit towards the end of the season but is still rock solid with all star potential as well. They've got a reasonable chance at winning the lottery for Wemby (I'll just throw out the random prediction that they will). And if that happens, that's one hell of a core 3 for the next decade. Even without Wemby, they got a real nice duo to build around.

That part has nothing to do with the Pacers or Nuggets.

After 20 years it should be clear as daylight that LeBron is the attraction wherever he goes. Without him, there's no AD in LA. AD all but admitted this himself when he said he'd "follow that mf'er to ten more finals."

They need to hit that draft pick, either lucky with Wemby or another guy. Otherwise, their ceiling is limited and they are middle of the road. I like Haliburton as well and Mathurin seems like a nice core piece. They need another guy or two but I can't put them at 2 right now. No way. Orlando is definitely higher.

They will have a lot of cash to sign free agents and AD could still be here. Not in his prime but he won't be ancient. Still could be a 18 and 9 guy.

How do you know who will be playing for the Lakers in '27, can you see into the future?

By the time the '27 season gets here the Lakers will still be better than the Pacers.

Sure, but he'll be joining up with another star that has already signed with the Lakers in the years prior. Plenty of time underperforming franchises to lose their star players to the Lakers in the interim.

Besides, your rankings are off. Lakers are #1, rebuilt in a single trade deadline.
