He's the best coach available and Brees didn't become a HOF caliber QB till he went to NO.

The main differences between Brees' last year in San Diego and his first with Payton in NO are more attempts and better protection.

Give up on your 1st round pick in only two years when you didn't give him a fair chance with weapons or a decent OL? I guess it COULD but very low chance

AZ Cardinals-esque. Not sure that's a good thing...

However, if they like Bryce Young better than Fields, they could get their guy and deal Fields for multiple picks. Either that or trade down with someone who wants to guarantee their QB preference and needs to leap-frog the idiot Texans. If they trade down and still prefer a QB on the board, they could net two pick packages (one for trading down, one for Fields). Trading down at least once should really boost the talent level of the defense.

152-89 in 15 years as a HC. 63%. Took them to the playoffs in 9 of his 15 seasons. Brought the Saints their only SB win. But, isn't a top HC....

Can't make this shit up......SMH.

How many HC succeed coming BACK from a TV job?

But the Bears could take one if they think he's much better than Fields or deal the pick......maybe make Houston pay to move up 1 spot.

If Houston is willing to pay to move up to #1, then I understand why Lovie got fired. Winning on Sunday was idiotic and unforgivable.

I definitely misremembered what he did in SD.

Still no lock Payton can be a top HC without him. sure wasn't his last year in NO.

Payton is a helluva coach and would love to see him in Cleveland. You mentioned his final year with the Saints in '21. He somehow went 9-8 but had to use 4 different QB's. The injury bug wasn't kind to the QB situation in N.O. that season.

-Jameis went 5-2

-Taysom Hill went 4-1

-Trevor Siemian went 0-4

-Ian Book went 0-1

Jim Harbaugh interviews for Denver Broncos job

Not saying he'll take this job. But have been saying for years it's not if but when will he return to the NFL?

Due to his overly competitive personality that S.B. loss to his brother has to burn him up inside.

Idiot. I also didn't like that Georgia was still throwing up 40+ points. Getting cocky.
That’s loser talk. It’s the national championship game of college football not some slanted high school contest with a mercy rule and everybody gets a trophy bull shit. If TCU doesn’t like they can stop it or they can leave the field like bitches and take a forfeit because they quit.

He’s looking at an investigation and the distinct possibility he is personally punished because of non cooperation with the investigation. He’ll duck out of paying the piper like Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly did when they were caught cheating.

Nah, at the point you are up 40 and there is no need for a comeback you run the ball and kick FG's. There is absolutely no point in running up the score other than trying to show up the opponent and acting like you are so dominant. They were just pissed off about the last game so they wanted to make a point. I get it but at that point you are beating a dead horse. It's like up 50 points on a 10 year old.

When you’re up 40 points in a championship game and there are no more games after that you can do whatever the fuck you want.

Payton has said he isn't retired for good.
No doubt, but he's not going to jump into any job. He's going to do his due diligence. I don't see many people jumping at the chance to coach the Broncos.

They also have to find an organization that’s dumb enough to give up a first round pick for a coach.

Not my point. How many coaches have moved to the booth, then returned to back to the NFL with success? Joe Gibbs not so much (and went to racing, not the booth). Gruden, hell no.

Good call. I think what you mentioned is on the mind of JH.

This is a fair concern, but there's not exactly a huge sample size to pick from here. How many coaches had a level of success that Sean Payton has had, went to TV, then returned to the NFL. The only one that comes to mind is Gruden. And looking at the state of the Raiders over the last decade, he seemed to have them at their highest level.
