I would argue the Cowboys are better than the Eagles. But that is neither here nor there. Ignore the fact the East played both South divisions. You can only play the schedule you are given, not faulting you there, but don't inflate your teams ability on record alone.
I can understand why you feel that way. After all, your Bengals lost to Cooper Rush. I have no need to “inflate” my team. They’re 13-1 with their starting QB. They have an elite OL, 2 1,000 yard WRs, a 1,000 yard RB, 8 Pro Bowlers, etc… my squad is a great team.

The Eagles are tied for the Chiefs in leading the NFL in net yards per play. The Eagles definitely aren't a creation of schedule, circumstance, or something flukey, imo. They're just elite. Cowboys and 49ers are also in the same neighborhood.
I am not going to take away from the big play ability of the Eagles and the valuable impact Hurts has on that offense. Once again though, strength of schedule and opponents will contribute to those numbers. The Eagles are a good team, I am not saying they are not. I am just saying don't get too sure cocked over a record that features that strength of schedule before having to play some serious opponents like they will have to in the playoffs. Also, I think the AFC North is more battle hardened than the Eagles fan is giving them credit for.

Give him some latitude. It’s not really about the Eagles or the NFC East. He’s all up in his feelings. He knows I’m an Eagles fan so they just become the target for that reason; it’s not really because the Eagles or the NFC East is less than. It’s arguably been the best division in football this year.

I think a coin toss is lame. Can we just have Joe Burrow face off with Lamar Jackson or another Ravens QB to see who hits the most targets in a passing accuracy drill. That would be totally fair.

I'm not questioning the Chiefs or Eagles being two of the best teams in the league, but rather how you got from point A to point B here. Wouldn't a team's schedule directly impact their net yards per play?

Incorrect. Rules state that a rule in place may NOT be changed.

I operated under the assumption (incorrectly) that there wasn't something already in place. I think most of us did.

There is. And Roger, for all the latitude he has, does NOT have the authority to change a standing rule in the middle of the season.
He does if the competition committee and owners are on board with the change. Just watch. It’s happening today.

It would*, but in week 17 we'd have a pretty decent amount of confidence the body of work has some value. Moreso than say point differential stacked on 2-3 chucklefuck teams.

Burrow was still finishing his recovery from surgery in training camp and the oline was still shit at that point. It took them a while to gel, so yeah, there were issues, but you are right. This team lost to a Cooper Rush led Cowboys team. That Cowboys defense is legit. Once again, I think the Eagles are a good team, especially with Hurts at QB. I just don't think your team is as battle hardened as they should be heading into the playoffs. I could see a one and done for the Eagles, I could also see them getting hot and going to the SB.

I think you use things like “battle hardened” because it can’t really be tested or measured. You stepped out with a stupid hot take and now you’re married to a stupid opinion you’re doubling down on like you’re Skip Bayless or Colin Cowherd.

Your team is going to play them in a football game this weekend. And if you can beat an incomplete flawed team with their back up QB you don’t have to worry about a coin flip.

It's fine. We will see. Hopefully I am wrong for your sake.

Excuses are fun. Let’s be honest. If the Bengals OL matched up against the Cowboys front 4 again, the Bengals OL would still get dominated. They still aren’t good but you’re right. They aren’t the functionally retarded unit that they were early in the season. There’s that battle hardened thing again. Apparently, in your eyes, it’s better to start the season losing to the likes of Mitch Trubinsky and Cooper Rush and improve from there so a team can be “battle hardened”.

No, I go with what Joe Burrow says. You should improve as the season goes on, because you have gelled as a unit and worked together all season. You should be hot at the end of the season as you make your way to the playoffs, not limping in on a 2 - 3 game losing streak before the playoffs.
