There’s still self determination, even playing with a Covid ravaged team. Your other pieces and your organizational depth give you a chance. No report of any options being given. Additionally, it’s tough to assume that the NFL would want a game to be played before Hamlin is out of the woods.
Guessing they want to make it seem like it was not discussed and all that matters is Hamlin's health. Obviously that is by far what is most important.

That’s not a fair result at all. The only fair result is declare last night a non contest and to keep the standings where they were from week 16
1. Bills
2. Chiefs
3. Bengals
If all 3 win their games this week these standings stay. If one or more loss you reassess these standings.

By declaring the Bills the losers after 1/6 of a football game you’ve reduced the number of teams that you’re screwing over from Bills Bengals Ravens to just the Bills and the Ravens. You’re still artificially gifting the Chiefs as well. Your fix isn’t a fix at all. It’s just propping up the Bengals and punishing the Bills for a freak accident.

That isn’t fair at all though.

The Chiefs played both the Bills and the Bengals. This was always the late season game Buffalo was likely to drop at Cincinnati.

Can’t give them a free pass here. No way the league does that.

There is no fair solution when a game this big can’t be played on time.

The Chiefs lost to the Bills and the Bengals. You’re giving the Chiefs a free pass.

But the Bengals and Cheifs both get screwed in your scenario.

Bengals move to 2 seed with a shot at 1 with a win in a home game where they were favored and winning when the game was called.

As much as it sucks, the most fair solution is the team with the injured player is the 1 to get the short end.

Bengals have been the best team in the AFC last 6 weeks.

How do the Chiefs get screwed? They lost to the Bills at home and for the third straight time lost to Bengals?!?!? We know for certain there’s a shit sandwich to be eaten here. You’re feeding the Chiefs filet mignon and you’re making the Bills Bengals and Ravens eat the shit sandwich. Listen, you can lobby for whatever you believe but you’re woefully mistaken to be using any word resembling “fair” with what you’ve put forth. We know for a fact that the Chiefs have lost head to head to the two best teams in that conference and yet they get propped up to the number 1 slot on a ridiculous tragedy? That’s messed up.

Because their competition doesn’t have to play the hardest game on their schedule.

They would get number one because they didn’t lose to the Jets or the Dolphins or the Vikings like the Bills did. To at would mean they complete their schedule with the fewest losses.

That is how it is supposed to work.

And as I have said multiple times, there is no fair solution.

As soon as the game wasn’t played last night, somebody was getting screwed over.

No, they would get the number one seed because a ridiculous tragedy took place. That’s why they’re getting the number one seed because that’s actually what has granted them (can’t use the word earned) the bye and top seed (this is just a thought exercise anyway; the outcome is that no game will be played and the Chiefs will be exalted). I have a real problem with that.

Also, @ the Chiefs is the toughest game on the Bills schedule and they won the game as per your rant on completing the schedule with the fewest losses. That makes @ the Chiefs a tougher game than @ the Bengals based upon your own stated reasoning.

And how is that scenario fair to the Bengals?

Forget the Chiefs.

Bengals now have to beat KC and Buffalo on the road because this game wasn’t played.

Not right.

You find a way to play the game and one of the is rightfully the top seed and none of them are screwed

I agree that is the way that least screws everyone.

However, depending on the scenario proposed to make up the game, the Bills and Bengals might decide it isn’t worth doing.

Especially the Bills, who IMO were most likely to lose that game anyway. Even more likely the way it started.

Bills Ravens and Bengals all get screwed in various and different ways and Andy Reid is gifted homefield advantage and a bye. O by the way, the Chiefs lost to both the Bengals and the Bills head to head and the Chiefs will be the number one seed.

Every fan of what is just in sports is rooting for the Raiders this weekend and the greatest application of Ball Don’t Lie ever.
Y'all don't mind if I root for my team, right...?

Just askin'...

And just to chime in, the only fair thing is for the Bills and Bengals to finish their game. Didn't know we had so many Chiefs haters in the room....

Even that isn’t fair.

They will be on shorter rest than anyone else regardless of how they do it.

NFL doesn’t even do Monday Night games week 18 to avoid having someone playing on short rest.

You’re assuming that the Bengals would have won. They’re right where they were before this week’s games as well… the 3 seed.

Now this opinion is just ass. It’s the first 10 minutes of a 60 minute game?!?!? There’s 5/6 of the game left.
