Yeah he's right but not the time for that tweet

Game must be played eventually

Too much riding on this game
someone may have already mentioned here but heard week 18 going on as scheduled. Maybe just hoping whatever happens makes this game not matter much?

Yes...obviously the young man's health matters most but I'm sure the NFL and NFLPA have discussed options.

Impossible unless the bills lose at home. That is about the only result that would make the game not matter much

Tremendous overreaction.

He is questioning what happens next for 2 teams, both in contention for #1 seed in the AFC AND he even said it seems irrelevant at this point.

It is a little tone def in the moment when the well being of the player comes first, but calling for someone to be fired over asking that question is cringeworthy at best.

His job is to cover sports. This is an unprecedented event. The logistics surrounding it are important.

Trust that the league will eventually figure out the best course of action while communicating with both teams.

But there is no positive outcome from any of this. And the question is valid.
Well said. I was watching the coverage after it happened and it seemed like they had to constantly point out this man's life is most important. I think everyone gets this. Everyone tiptoed around actually talking about the game.

Finally heard SVP mention it and while tiptoeing around it finally said something like "this game does need to be played and will be played"

Though I guess now looks like it might not? Either way, not a bad person if someone wonders.....or to point out not playing will have ramifications for some teams (and someone could get screwed)

Guessing they are hoping against hope, though, we get some good news on Hamlin soon.

Bills Ravens and Bengals all get screwed in various and different ways and Andy Reid is gifted homefield advantage and a bye. O by the way, the Chiefs lost to both the Bengals and the Bills head to head and the Chiefs will be the number one seed.

Every fan of what is just in sports is rooting for the Raiders this weekend and the greatest application of Ball Don’t Lie ever.

For sure if this game just goes unplayed someone is getting the short end of the stick....but might not be a better option.

I would say push back the start of playoffs a week and if needed remove a week from the 2 weeks between conference title games and superbowl

I think it should be up to the players and staff from the Bills and Bengals whether this game gets played or not.

If scheduling doesn’t allow it, unfortunately the most fair result would be a Bills forfeit.

And honestly, it might better serve the Bills to take the L and prepare for a home playoff game in round 1 vs playing a red hot Bengals team while their opponent rests and maybe losing anyway.

I have seen that suggestion.

Still screws the Bills and Bengals a bit, though not as much.

No good solution here.

Damn sure better than a fn forfeit, that isn’t happening I don’t think.

That’s not a fair result at all. The only fair result is declare last night a non contest and to keep the standings where they were from week 16
1. Bills
2. Chiefs
3. Bengals
If all 3 win their games this week these standings stay. If one or more loss you reassess these standings.

By declaring the Bills the losers after 1/6 of a football game you’ve reduced the number of teams that you’re screwing over from Bills Bengals Ravens to just the Bills and the Ravens. You’re still artificially gifting the Chiefs as well. Your fix isn’t a fix at all. It’s just propping up the Bengals and punishing the Bills for a freak accident.

Yep just wont be right. Bills worked super hard to be in the position they are in to just say fk it you need to go to KC again if you want to make the superbowl. The point of them being #1 in the afc entering week 17 is to have KC visit them if it got to that point

Someone is going to get the short end of the stick here as I doubt pushing the playoffs back is an option they'd consider to just get one game in next week.

I mean, it wasn't exactly fair teams played other teams in Covid while they might have been missing half their starters or all their QBs, etc.

When things happen that are kind of unexpected someone might get screwed. Sucks, of course. Guessing the Bills/Bengals could be given (or have been?) an option of playing today or tomorrow and chose not to.

Tough decisions regardless.

The window to play it is already closed. If they play it any other time it becomes a detriment for both teams getting ready for a playoff game. This is what happens. All we can do now is root for justice and the Raiders to upset the Chiefs this weekend.

There’s still self determination, even playing with a Covid ravaged team. Your other pieces and your organizational depth give you a chance. No report of any options being given. Additionally, it’s tough to assume that the NFL would want a game to be played before Hamlin is out of the woods.
