Ridiculous decision.

Even more ridiculous to not bring Heinicke in.

Ron Rivera, nice guy and all, just isn't a good coach?
Dan Snyder usual dumbass interfering?
All of the above?
Apparently the Redskins were unaware of the possibility that they could have been eliminated yesterday.

Last season the Gruden fiasco.

Ruggs.....

Arnette....

What was the common denominator on the Raiders getting to the playoffs when they could have mailed it in with all the BS going on?

Yeah, Derek Carr showed he was a leader and led them to the postseason despite insurmountable odds.

A year later and people think he's trash and deserves all the blame for this shitshow.....despite a less than stellar defense and a new HC who has shown he doesn't deserve a 2nd chance.

I don’t see how the Raiders benching Carr helps them trade him.

I don’t think he is trash.

He is average.

But they way overachieved last year.

The roster is flawed.

McDaniels does look like an OC, not a head coach, but it isn’t all on him either. Raiders are just a mediocre team.

If he were to get hurt NFL rules about injured players would kick in making it difficult for them to cut him if need be. They also protect the asset from injury in making a deal.

LOL at they over achieved. That's always the excuse.

At least Carr is being big about his situation. I haven't heard anything about him bad mouthing the Raiders for being benched...
Nope and he's been like that his entire career. Why he deserved better and if he gets dealt I'll root for him wherever he goes.

And he may not win a SB like Staff when he got paroled from the Lions but I won't be surprised if he wins a playoff game or goes on a deep playoff run with his new team. Several teams would get a serious upgrade with him.

True, but I think the main thing is the over $40 million in non guaranteed money they can save by getting him off their roster. Let’s not forget that somehow the Raiders are very cash poor.

That’s what I’m saying. The timing of an injury could impact their ability to shed him before a roster bonus kicks in.

You can LOL all you want, but it is the truth.

They won some close games last year and lost them this year. Tends to even out.

In fact, last year they were 10-7 with a -65 point differential. This year 6-10 with -5.

So yeah, they tremendously overachieved last year. Teams with point differentials that far negative don’t tend to win 10 games.

To me the problem with benching him is teams are already assuming they are going to release him.

I agree. At the same time, people do dumb things over QBs.
