Lakers at some point will win some games- and if they make a big trade they can still salvage the season- but if say LeBron or Davis gets hurt- and they decide to sit on the assets- the fact that New Orleans owns the pick swap might just come back to haunt them in a major major way.

the nightmare is that the pick turns into a high level all star. The absolute nightmare is with the flattened lotto odds they somehow win the #1 pick. That would be a disaster of epic proportions.

i dont want to get on my high horse too much- since the Cavs owe a ton of unprotected picks and pick swaps now--- and things often change fast in the NBA- but at least they look really good and are super young, and have an owner willing to spend major $ to keep the team together if they prove themselves worthy of it.

Okoro is a bust. He does one thing well. Defend. You can't be a one note player. He actually has a negative per right now which is pretty remarkable.
I would not go that far yet. He looked good at times last year in his age 20 season. On this Cavs team with so many scorers he is not going to really be able to get a consistent opportunities to score. He still has time- but the Cavs are going from a team that can be patient and focus on development- to a team really pressing to win now and he is going to have to earn his minutes rather than be handed them as a former high pick (albeit in a very weak draft).

It's not a disaster of a pick because the only moderately franchise changing player was Haliburton.

Some teams got some nice pieces (Bane the best at the end of the first) but no one that's going to make multiple all star appearances

I can't blame the Lakers for the pick swaps or the Davis deal. Every move after that has been a disaster though.

Exactly.

People going to blame the Davis pick that gave NO the swap.

That wasn’t the issue.

Lakers would be fine with any semblance of competent roster moves since.

Them not going all in so as to save picks is an all time head scratching decision. They could've added pieces and worked in the preseason with them. Now they are going to drop them in the middle of a season.

Yeah I mean early in his 3rd year we should be seeing some resemblance of him turning the corner but he seems to be regressing

If he has worked on his shooting like everyone raved about it then he would have the perfect role. He is literally wide open on every outside shot, nobody guards him. If he then could be consistent it would open up his game. Disappointing so far

I think the ways team are defending him and daring him to shoot is getting in his head. And as we've seen with much more talented guys in Ben and Russ that can really derail a guy.

Yeah I dont get that at all. Makes zero sense when you only have so many years of Lebron and Lebron at his age + AD’s injuries, he won’t last long

Yeah.

If you aren’t going to trade those picks for help…

Then the only other reasonable solution is to trade AD and LeBron.

Yea

You're either pushing for a title or rebuilding. Worrying about 2 first rounders 5 plus years down the road is odd for a squad built around 2 superstars.

I was tied up but heard the Sixers won without Embiid and Maxey had 44. Holy shit!

Looks like Russ has embraced coming off the bench, now that it actually happened.

Just glancing over it, it sounds like Kyrie is on that Farrakhan Nation of Islam bullshit. They still have influence over several athletes and other black celebrities. They typically keep it more quiet and subtle than Kyrie though. I think Jaylon Brown might be on the Farrakhan bullshit too. Fwiw, I'm not speaking out about Islam as a religion. I'm talking about that garbage Louis Farrakhan puts out. That's just racism and wacked out conspiracies wearing a pretend Islam costume.

Just really weird stuff. As fan as Jaylen Brown. Don't know much about him so he could be into that stuff. But at first he didn't distance himself from Kayne & Donda sports. It took him a day or two. Not the best of looks.
