Don't mind me. I'm probably one of the worst around here with how the cap works. Thanks for the clarification. I thought you could simply renounce their rights and it clears the space.
Oh, you can.

But, they still have minimum roster holds.

So, hypothetically speaking...

If you only have 2 guys under contract and you have to have at least 12, they earmark cap holds for those other spots at the minimum....unless you have a 1st round draft pick.

Those picks have a automatic salary slot, based on where your pick is.

So, if the minimum salary is 2 mil, 2 X 10 is 20 mil in cap holds.

I rounded up to 2 mil.

So, the Lakers will have about 34-35 mil in space to sign a player outright.

MPJ out here cutting down trees at a prodigious rate. Klay out here smoking trees. No wonder these guys can't stay on the court.
Yep.... sounds like they're part-time arborists.

He's amazing.

No doubt about it. Didn't think he'd live up to the hype. But by the end of his rookie year he proved alotta people wrong. Really thought he was going to struggle his rookie year. Did the exact opposite.

Yup, I took him with the last pick of the first round in a fantasy league I used to be in with college friends. Most thought I was nuts but he more than earned that pick even as a rookie.

I remember hearing all about the historic longing of players to go to LA back with Kobe. It didn’t happen.
That and some of these reports are just gaslighting Lakers fans....lol

They are just subtracting Bron and Brow salaries from the projected cap, knowing that isn't how it actually works.

He definitely exceeded the hype.

Shit, he still is.

I got him in the 2nd round this year.

In fairness, it is a 10 team league and I had the 10th and 11th pick.

As I said way back before even Klay came back--- a guy who has a ton of miles on him and has had multiple serious surgeries on his legs is going to see his game fall off.

he is only 32 but its pretty clear that he cannot do what he used to--- so when he is getting smoked he resorts to quoting the past, getting T'd up, and ejected.

he is going to have to learn that he is no longer capable of doing what he used to do on a nightly basis and make adjustments--- guys like booker are just gonna smoke him. He is n o longer on or near that lvel. Maybe a night here or there he will still have big games---- but the night in and night out threat? gone and never coming back.
I have said the same and the thing is he doesn't have to be that guy. Wiggins is the clear #2 now. He can be a #3 or #4. The problem with him is he thinks he is still a #2 and an elite player which is not the case. He can do it from time to time but the consistency will not be there, just hopefully for the W's sake he can deliver in clutch moments in the playoffs. His defense has taken quite a hit but as long as he can hit shots in big moments and have one of those games so often GS will be fine.

Celtics' Jaylen Brown, Rams' Aaron Donald leaving donda sports

Didn't know crazy Kayne has (or should I say had?) a sports agency.
Im happy to see this.

Black folks can’t just have selective outrage.

When a white person says, or does, some unsavory shit towards a person of color….

Every group speaks out in condemnation.

When a black person does the same to another group?

Crickets.

It pisses me off.

Everyone knows Kayne has a screw loose. But he's entered a very fucked up and unacceptable zone.

I've said all off-season that the Lakers may be best served by just playing out the season with what they have and looking to re-do the roster in the off-season with whatever cap space they have.

Some say they will have enough to go after a max player, some say they won't. The truth is likely somewhere in the middle. It looks like they will have around $35 - $40ish million. All of you wannabe mathematicians and junior capologists can spare me your "calculations" unless you can show you're a GM. If you can show that you're a GM, I expect comped tickets. lol

That range isn't going to land them a 3rd max level guy unless it's Kyrie who likely can't get a max deal from anyone. Even if they had cap space to add a 3rd max level guy, that may not be the best way to go. I'd rather they break it up for depth due to AD's injury history and Lebron's age.

What they could get for that would be a couple of shooters to add to Ham's defensive schemes. A couple of quality shooters being provided open looks because of Lebron and AD, combined with good defense is exactly what won them the title in the bubble.

Unless they are getting someone they would target in FA, imo, they shouldn't trade for anyone who won't be a FA after this season.

I want LeBron traded to Cleveland just to see wiggy's reaction.

I figure LeBron for Dylan Windler, Robin Lopez, Lamar Stevens, Raul Neto, some cash and picks is a win/win for both team.

Yeah, but you have people trying to hand wave this shit off as Kanye being Kanye.

We heard all about people being disgusted about him wearing a white lives mater shirt.

But, him being a racist, antisemitic pig?

Nothing.

Until Maverick Carter, LeBron and the Shop said....ENOUGH.

All of a sudden, it's now okay to flame him.

Right is right and wrong is wrong.

You shouldn't need a celebrity to give you the green light to speak out.

The problem is their depth. The way the roster is constructed doesn't work. You're built around one aging superstar and an often injured AD. Even adding a 3rd star to that would require pretty fortunate luck.

They need to deal AD imo. But they won't.
