Anyone watching that game against the dolphins also knows the Bills only barely had an O line. Supposedly one of them finished the game on a Torn ACL because he knew they had - quite literally - no one else to put in.

I saw the tackle and while the opposing player just finished his tackle I felt the whip at the end excessive. problem is how do you stop the mentality to finish your tackle in a less violent method. Im glad three is no spine damage and I hope he has no concussion/brain trauma

I thought the ending of that tackle was excessive as well. It seems to me that refs have backed off from blowing the whistle when a player has a QB in the grasp and this in my opinion has led to QB's taking unnecessary hits.

I was thinking the same about the old "in the grass" ruling. Not sure if the rise of guys like Newton and Wilson and moving in to Mahkmes, Jackson, Allen, etc. led to the demise of the (enforcement of?) of the rule since now we just sort of assume those guys are going to get away.
